So my doctor switched my meds but what I dont understand is this...Savella is for Fibromyalgia and as I understand it, it's supposed to help with the pain too. Cymbalta is an anti-depressant. How is that going to help with the pain? Am I going to start having that severe pain again?

Cymbalta has been used off label for fibro for some time now. It was recently approved by the FDA to be labeled for fibro. It has worked wonders for me personally.

There a many meds on the market that are marketed for various ailments, sometimes under different names and sometimes for uses other than that which they were originally intended. Viagra was originally intended for blood pressure or something like that, but researchers found it had other effects and marketed as such.
