Taking medicine correctly

    I have been on synthyroid or levothyroid since 1985. Went to a new endocrinologist yesterday, he is the first doctor to tell me to take this medication WITH water 1/2 hr before breakfast and any other medications!

    Make sure you are taking your medications they way they should be taken.

    Yes, we should always talk with our physicians and take any/all medications as our personal physician (not anyone else) recommends.

    I too feel this is a very important topic.

    As mentioned by another poster -- we [patients] always have the option of discussing our different medications with our PCPs , if we feel that a particular medication is not working for us.
