I recently started taking levoxyl. Says to take it 30 min before breakfast in the AM on an empty stomach. Today it was almost an hour before I remembered to eat. Geeze!!! Does anyone know if it is important to eat in 30 min or just important not to eat for 30 min. after taking? There is a distinct difference. Sure would like to not have to eat till I feel hungry. You are suppose to take it at the same time every day. No problem, but dont feel hungry at the same time every day.

Thyroid is difficult for the system to absorb, so it is recommended that one take it on an empty stomach and wait at least 30 mins. before eating. I keep mine next to my bed with water so I can take it when I get up. It's usually 30 mins. before I get around to breakfast.

My pharmacist told me it didn't matter how I took it, as long as I always take it the same way at the same time. I take it first thing and wait at least 30 min. but try to last an hour.
