Tarsal Tunnel is caused by the entrapment of the tibial nerve.
When the nerve is compressed, it causes pain, tingling, numbness and a burning sensation in the foot and leg.
The surgery consists of an incision made behind and below the inside of the ankle then cuts the laciniate ligament. This provides room for expansion of the nerve.
