A surgeon neurologist, asked me to try Tegretol on low dose. I have been on it for 3 weeks, I think it helps my facial pain a lttle (for me it is better than nothing). I also have TMJ.

I went to him, because my therapist thought that I might have trigemenal neurologia, since a lot of my symptoms overlaps the TN. But the Dr. assured me that I do not have it, but I could try tegretol . I started on 50 mg. , I am now at 75 mg. I take it once in the morning. I was suppose to take it 3 times a day,100 mg each time. But I could not do it at night, it keeps me dizzy, that I cannot go to sleep.

Tegretol can ruin your liver, you need to be checked if you'r taking the 300 mg. a day.

You need to be under a Dr. care, checking your liver, its for facial pain, so as gabitril, don't think its for Fibro.

    Good luck..
