test for cfs

    what i would like to no is my doc says i have me but no tests have been done so how can he no i have this and its not something else its hard for you to take in or understand you have an illness if they dont have any tests to back this up.

    Before a doctor can give a diagnoses of ME/CFS, he/she must rule out all other illnesses (ie lupus, cancer, diabetes, anemia, infections, Mono/EBV, Lyme, thyroid, etc.).

    As to actual tests for the detection of ME/CFS, there aren't any at this time. It is strictly a matter of ruling out all other illnesses until there is nothing else to test for. Only then can you be given a diagnoses of ME/CFS.
