That trip to Neuro was interesting ...

I don't know what else to say about it. I spent lots of time filling out form after form and he referred me on to a sleep specialist. He thinks it is sleep apnea (which I kept telling my PCP) that is causing my fatigue and headaches. He told me to quit taking fioricet and to double up on my Lyrica ... 300 mgs a day now!!! Holy cow. He told me no more Ambien (he thinks that is dangerous for someone with sleep apnead issues). Then he wouldn't even address my pain, etc. because he is strictly a headache specialist. Now I have to get referred to a Rheumy I guess?

My rheumy kept insisting that I had sleep apnea (which I had NO reason to believe I did). Just to humor him, I finally had a sleep study done and by golly it turned out that I did have sleep apnea!!! I'm using a CPAP now (two months). I do find that I'm not as sleepy during the day...but it hasn't helped my fatigue, weakness, dizziness. Plus, as you know, the Lyrica keeps me pretty high all day!!! Good luck with your 300 mg...I only take 100 mg per day (they wanted me to take 150 but I couldn't handle it).

Gosh ... I took 150 mg Lyrica earlier and oh my ... I got a burst of energy then crashed and slept all afternoon. I felt weird in my chest also. I think that is just too much ;-) I am going to stick to the 150 mg for the whole day.

I am glad you listened to your Rheumy ;-). I will probably scare my poor kitty to death ... lol.

I guess what bothered me about this trip to the Neuro (besides the Lyrica increase) is that I went there for migraines AND neck pain. He didn't even order an MRI or anything!!! So now I have to hunt up a Rheumy I guess. I just wish I could find a really good all purpose type of doc :-(
