I posted earlier about the first panic attack I'd had in 6 years. I am so worried about my friends in N.O. where I grew up. Keeping an eye on parish warnings, the following was posted for lower Plaquemines -- although you'll notice that it is for the general New Orleans area. [Plaquemines Parish is the county on the southern side of the big 'toe' that sticks out of Louisiana's boot.]

This is what our parents used to terrify us with when we were children, come horrifyingly true:

That's my birth city and my thoughts are with everyone in the path of this monster. I just hope people are taking the warnings seriously and don't decide to try to ride this one out if they have the ability to leave the city.

    Take care every one.

My sister lives in Houma, LA. Which is very close to the gulf. Much close than New Orleans. Been trying to get a hold of her for almost a day now. Wish she would call me. I am sure they have left but now answer on any cell phone I try. It's going to distroy their business. He is an oyster man. I know it is only a business and a place but it's been in the family for 7 generations. Spent a month down there in the spring. Just beautiful. And they say this could be the end of New Orleans; once in a 500 year thing. Let's all just pray. Fibrohugs to all.............
