http://www.prohealth.com/library/showarticle.cfm?libid=13042 I recently discovered this short article on proHealth by Mark Pellegrino, describing 8 different subsets of FM. Many newbies to our Dx are confused by differing symptoms and differing levels of pain reported by people with FM dx. There's considerable confusion about the role of "other factors." For example, I've heard it expressed that, if you have inflammation, it's not fibro. Or, if you have a thyroid problem, it's not fibro. However, IMO it's important to look at what the actual diagnostic criteria for FM are. Very few: tender points being the biggie. I found Pellegrino's conceptual analysis to be compelling. What is your take?
