I called my reheumy. but she was not in today.Left a message with her nurse explaining how the ultram and flexeril aren't helping with the pain.

So I called my family dr.He called in tramadol/ultram.This stuff just doesn't help at all.

The base of my neck is killing me,the back of my head is killing me.

I am wondering if I have torn my rotator cuff in my left shoulder.

I was having pain and stiffness a few weeks back. This was before I went back to the gym.

One day my left shoulder started hurting so bad. Then the pain just got worse in my head and neck.

I hurt so bad right now.

I am waiting to hear from my reheumy. tom on wether I need to see her or my orthopedic dr. which is luckily in the same office with my reheumy. and they share an office too.

Well, I am gonna get back in the recliner. It just may be the place I sleep tonight. If I sleep.I can't take alot of sleeping pills like I did last night.

Everyone say a prayer for me.
    Thanks,
    Sheila

This is too bad. You could go to ER or a Convenient Care Center. Yes, it could be the rotator cuff. How is your posture, right now as you read this. Is your chin forward, or your shoulders slouched? Amazingly, bad posture can cause tremendous pain in the cervical spine that is damaged a little.

A good exercise is to it up straight, and pull your chin back like a sargeant major to count of ten an do this five times three times a day.

Have you a good chair? Are you usING a back roll(roll up towel will do. You can put a pncil between the back of the chair and your mid back and it should not drop down, you are slouching if it does. Do shoulder shrugs as often as you feel you can too. Walk swinging your arms if you can.

I can only tell you this as I have that awful neck pain a lot and the shoulder pain too and have to admit it is always my posture esp. on computer. If i stay off the computer the pain eases.

I do hope you can get relief. I think that if the meds aren't working for you then you may want to get MRI's right away, and do good PT to help you. Do you like massage? Some specialise in myofascial pain release. I also use Tiger Balm as it is great for neck pain.

Also a hydrolalator(moist heat pad you boil up in pot adn wrap in towels) can work womders.

Just sending you a Gentle Hug :)

I understand the severity of your pain.
Days like these are so hard to get thru.

The best thing to do (I've found) is to take your strongest pain meds and crawl into bed with a good book or movie. If you have a heating pad use that on your most painful area.
    I'm flaring BIG time also~
My pain is at a 9-10. Ultram does nothing!! thats what I have to and its a joke.
    Prayers going up for you~
hope your better in the morning~
    Night,

    Hi Sheila,

I'm so sorry to hear how much pain you are having now. I have fibro osteo arthritis and psoriatic arthritis and I was having so much continued pain in my shoulder just before Christmas. It seemed like all the meds and the pain pills weren't doing anything. When I got an appointment at my rheumatologist, he noticed the pain was coming from around my rotator cuff and was able to do a steriod injection into the site. Within a day that particular pain was gone. I still haven't had it back in that spot yet.

Hope this might help. Take care,

    Sandy
