about four yrs. ago....the clinic was a great blessing to alot of unknown answer for me...after putting up with so much crap here at home. ((Belleville, ON))

I was told here at home that I had M.S. then told "No u don't X 2..I could take it anymore, mentally..so my therpist was the one who knew I wasn't "NUTS", and he was the one wo recommended me to go!

You see specialist not just PG's they run every blood test under the sun, but you can't ask for anything better than being thorough..it is a stay for 2 or days, Plz go..I got answers and came how feeling after all this time I wish I could have known sooner, as the Drs. here just treated me like a "head case".

When you make you arrangements to go((you call yourself))they will want reports from your Dr.(s) ..((and I really hope you do))..it's all covered by OHIP..and they will give you hotel names that will give you great dicounts where you can stay ((for Lockwood Patients)).

I was concerned about the hotel expenses ..had to take a bus to Toronto also...but the hotel have everything u need...fridge, stove, mircowave, coffee maker..etc..so that saved on going out to eat, as there is a grocery store in walking distance just in case u wanted to know.

They don't mind what so ever if you take someone with you during your exams...testing and with the Dr.s

The only downfall for me was I had to give up to app'ts because the were at other locations..and I couldn't afford to go.

Hope you keep me posted...would really like to know how you make out.

    All the best ~~~*Karen*~~~

I'd never heard of it. Though I heard alot about an Environmental Health Clinic in the Sunnybrooke Woman's Hospital, which is funded also by Health Canada and is fully covered. Most everything in Canada is though. If you are going to be sick, it's good to be Canadian.

I did go to the Env. Health Clinic. They have hotel referrals and discounts too. This was during my disability battle though, so I was on Medical Welfare and they would only pay for the cheapest hotel, so no kitchen for me and it was hell on my allergies. They had hotels for the chemically sensitive but they were more expensive and Welfare wouldn't pay for it.

It was 3 hours of testing, an appt. w/ a nurse, then the doctor, and you filled out a huge preliminary questionaire sent ahead by mail. Then there was follow up w/ a dietician and one other follow up by phone for out of towners. It was good for diagnosing, but no follow up treatment.

    Ann:

Just to let you know @ the time of all the nonsense and frustration I was going through, being misdiagnosed here..the only Dr. who believed in me was my "god send" from the mental health clinic....he was the one who know I wasn't "NUTS" ((for the lack of a better word)). My GP I had, I gave up on him because of his opinion of my condition..so to make a longer answer shorter to your question...I was just given the phone number and made the appointment myself. As for taking any Dr.s records it's not a must...because all the information they want is when you fill out your paper work when you get there, start out with a clean slate, and after you are done..if you want, you can pay a fee..((not sure how much it would be now))... to take, or have your tests and diagnoses faxed or send to whom you want. They hold the info for up to a year. And by the way..after a year they call you back (( by choice if you want)) to see them again for a follow up. THERE GREAT PEOPLE..WHO TAKE TIME TO HELP AS MUST AS POSSIBLE.

Once again, best of luck!!..and plz keep me posted..k?
