Has anyone used a night guard that had to be replaced or adjusted in order to get pain relief from TMJ? Do dental x rays help diagnose the TMJ/Fibro problem...have had Fibro for several years but the TMJ issue is only 10 days old.
    Looking for answers.

I have worn a night guard for years due to griting my teeth, and it helped.I have recently developed awful TMJ pain (my jaw on the right side actually pops out if I open my mouth very wide), and am going to pysical therapy for it. I have some exercises to release the muscles that are so tight , and they do unlta sound on it. The therepy seems to be helping a little.

I have terrible tmj to the point I have actually cracked and broken my teeth.

The guard worked altho I currently dont have one(the dog chewed it up!)

The cant see it on xray its by exam and symptoms.

I would try the guard until you can figure out how to relax!
    Good luck
