    I read that Fairbanks today has a temperature of -42 and ice fog. Really cold!! Those were tough days, when it was that cold. We would still go to work, school, run to the store, but a few activities were cancelled. Ice fog is really dense on days like that. I remember in 1989 it got down to -55 and stayed cold for 3 weeks.....highs of maybe -40. School finally got cancelled for two days but not because of cold. It was because the school buses couldn't see with all the ice fog. I can't say I miss the extreme cold!
