Today's is a little different. This was in my email and it was so strong that I felt compelled to share this with you:

Subject: Let God Be Your Stronghold

"The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble. Those
who know Your name will trust in You,
for You, LORD, have never forsaken those
who seek You." (Psalm 9:9,10 NIV)

When I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia,
it was definitely a "time of trouble" for
me. We had moved from California to Montana
and I wasn't able to get in to a new doctor
for six weeks. I'd let my anti-inflammatory
prescription run out, not realizing how
much I needed it. Every week I became more
ill and fatigued, with pain increasing all
over my body. I had no idea what was wrong
with me. I had to just hang on until my
    appointment. So I did.

I've since learned that when I'm really sick,
that's what I need to do--hang on, trust and
believe, regardless of how I feel. I usually
don't feel very spiritual or hopeful. My
feelings have run more toward darkness,
despair and worry; as if I'll never get better.
But that's just my body talking.

Which brings me to the second, more powerful
lesson I've learned. I can't always listen to
my body. I have to tell my body what my spirit
knows to be true. I rehearse, often out loud,
    the facts of my faith.

Jesus felt and carried my pain on Calgary.
He has redeemed my body and me by His blood.
I accept and receive that full redemption.
    He walks with me through every dark path;
He will never leave me nor forsake me.

The NIV Life Application Text Note for verse
10 says, "To forsake someone is to abandon that
person. God's promise does not mean that if we
    trust in Him we will escape loss or suffering;
it means that God Himself will never leave us
    no matter what we face."

That says it so well. No matter what we face,
God, Himself will always be by our side. Whether
we feel Him or not, He IS there.

If you're going through a dark time today, choose
to believe. God's Word is true and He loves you.
Know that He has not abandoned you, dear one.
He is with you right now.
