THe dentist had said years ago to use Colgate Total. We've been using it for years. I started having sensitive teetha nd gums and he had me using Crest Sensitive.

Anyway, I was reading the toothpaste box and low and behold, there was t he nasty Triclosan! I did a search here and saw another poster mentioned it quite a while ago.

For those of you trying to stay away from Triclosan, any idea what else it's in? I knew antibacterial hand soaps and dish soaps, and now I know it in anything else....?

BTW, what toothpaste do most of you folks use?

is also used as an anti-acne agent because it has bacteriocidal properties. If you have sensitive teeth you need to use a toothpaste with the ingredient potassium nitrate such as Sensodyne. I am a registered dental assistant and am approximately 9 months away from my dental hygiene degree. Hope that helps!
