3 years now I have suffered from Chronic Fatigue. One slight peculiarity of my symptoms is that I am worse first thing in the morning.

Among the various tests I have had (all negative) was an Adrenal Stress Test which measures Cortisol and DHEA levels throughout the day. Not much could be concluded from the result. It indicated high Cortisol levels until midday then dropping to low. DHEA was at the high end of normal first thing, then dropped below normal for the rest of the day.

This is probably a total long shot, but for years I used Betnovate Scalp Lotion (Betamethasone valerate) for the treatment of Psoriasis. I have read that Topical steroids can suppress the production of natural steroids. Coincidently I must have stopped using it just prior to the CFS starting.

Anyone got a view on this ?

I don't know, but I am always worse in the morning
I had the adrenal test too, and they said it was normal (ACTH) but the fact that the mornings are so bad makes me wonder about the adrenals
