I am again at the beginning of anther crash and my husband took me to our local walk-in clinic (1 doctor and 1 nurse prac). We got there at 2:30 and because the little office was so hot and full of flue victims, my husband told the receptionist that we would wait in the car and gave her his cell # when it was our turn. The recpt. said there were 5 ahead of us and that she would get us when our turn came up.
(I did NOT want to wait in the car because I was afraid we would get missed).

Any way, an hour later and we still haven't been called, my DH asked how close we were to our turn and the lady said that there were only 3 ahead of us at that time. So we waited some more and I was really feeling sick from the long wait. Hubby went back in at 4:30 to check again and the recept apologised and said that the doctor left 30 minutes ago! I was sooooo pi**#^! If I had the strength and energy I would have gone back in and gave them the "what for"!. I told my hubby that I hoped he did but he said she was so aplolgetic that he didn't have the heart to.

So as it stands, I have a 1:15 appt today and left some research copies of M.E. for the doctor to go over before I see her.

I just wanted to vent a little since I didn't get to vent on the ones responsible yesterday...LOL.

What to the patient is a matter of great significance, is just business as usual to the medical staff. That's why the wrong leg gets cut off, the wrong pills are dispensed, the medical records are misfiled, etc.

Not much one can do about it either except to be alert and vigilant. But that's hard for most of us since we have brain fog in addition to everything else.

Anyway, Kathleen, I think your idea to wait in the car was a good one. It just didn't work out. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for your reply. Now I know why I am divorcing! I should have gone to the ER like I originally wanted to do to get all the tests run!

But all is not lost...LOL. I made my appt today and still had to wait 45 min. But I have another appt to see a cardiologist next week. And my husband will not be with me!!

Thank you so much for your concern and inquiry. I think I am ok and have more details on the CFS board under "heart blockage". I don't know if that's my problem but am going to be tested for it soon.

That is so sweet of you to ask....thank you.

Thank yo for asking. I only had to wait 45 minutes for this one and it was with a nurse practitioner at the same clinic.

She took me very seriously and actually read the papers I brought her on ME the night before my appt. Fortunatley I was very symptomatic and could barely talk to her because of severe breathlessness and exhaustion. I also was showing signs of cognitive impairment because of loss of words and using the wrong terms and wording to describe what's going on.

Any way, she INSISTED I see a cardiologist and has made an appt with one for me. She also isisted I see the neurologist again and a pulminologist.

Sorry first of all cause I didn't catch your first posting. Yes, that must have been terrible to have to sit so long in the car and then not even get to see the doc. How frustationg !!! I am sure that you didn't have the energy or voice to do what you felt like doing (-: !!

Glad that you did finally get in and at least have some appts with specialists. I thought I was bad with the endocrinologist ahd rheumy. Actually I can't even get to see my PCP who I love but I am so busy seeing the other gals !!

You need to get checked right away if you are having problems breathing amongst everything else. I am so sorry yu are having so many oroblems.

Gee, your DH sounds really wonderful, patient and understanding. I know how hard it is. My DH trys to be understanding and thinks he does but does not quite, shall we say. The problem is that I push myself. Maybe if I layed in bed all day and whined he would REALLY understand (-: !! He does try bless his heart.

I see that you at least have one appt with the cardiologist. I hope that you do not have to wait to long to see the others. Appts to see specialists can take a LONG time, I know.

Warm hugs and blessings to you,
