    RE Hitchcock, i was stumped so I'd looked it up before posting.

    He had some kind of surgery... can't remember what exactly was removed, maybe gallbladder? not sure now. But found posts discussing it, and that others also didn't have a belly button either because of the same kind of surgery.

    don't feel bad, Cate.... for me it's usually my mind that's not making sense of stuff!
