Is anyone else experiencing difficulty logging on to ProHealth lately? I'm having to try to log in four or five times before I can get it to work. Here's what happens. I click on the Icon on my desktop or go to ProHealth through a search and when the page pops up, my computer shuts down and reboots itself.

At first I thought it was a computer problem or maybe Firefox, but none of my other programs are doing this. Last night it shut down about 6 times in a row. Anyone else have this happen? GB

Hi GB Computers are the ultimate example of love-hate relationships. At least for
me. I haven't had any trouble signing in, but sometimes when I click on "Post Reply"
the board tells me I'm not signed in. That, of course, is ridiculous, since I wouldn't
have been able to type a message in the message box if I hadn't signed in.

When a friend was showing me how to use the computer some decades back he said
computers were so complex that nobody could ever understand all about them. Not
even Bill Gates. "Just expect to have problems now and then."

Have you tried posting about your problem on
Tips and Suggestions on How to Use the New Forum?

I got some info there on how to post a picture/avatar, but it didn't really help. The
only thing I know to do when there's a problem is to turn the computer off for
a while. If that doesn't work, we take it to one of Gordon's former coworkers who
was an IT (information technology) person at Gordon's former job.

Hope you can find a magic bullet soon.

I haven't had any trouble logging on. I'm on Firefox too. I have the ProHealth CFS/Fibro forum on my bookmarks list.

There have been a couple of times in the past, that PH was glitching I assume, and couldn't even see it at all (logged in or not), such as got an 'error message' on the whole screen for a day.

Rock, when I'm logging on, I always check that little box 'stay logged on' before clicking the submit icon.

If you don't remember to click 'stay logged on', you will get timed out in the middle of writing a post - it automatically logs you out after a certain time - thus it would say 'you are not logged on' when you try to submit, even though you were logged on when you started to type.

There's a "Stay logged on" box?

How come I never heard of it? This is unbelievable. Next I'll find out pro wrestling
is scripted. Where the heck is this mysterious box, Patti?

It's to the right of the Log In icon.

Check the little box that says 'stay logged in' and you'll stay logged in indefinitely.

Well, if that isn't something! Okee Dokee. With the help of your directions,
Patti, I found the elusive little box and checked it. Ta-da! That's the
second time you've given me valuable info on negotiating the world
of cyberspace. Thank you too many! If you're ever down a well, ring
    my bell.

Rock, here's a real easy way to do your Avatar pic.

    1. Hover mouse arrow over your username in GREEN area near top right of page.

    2. Drop-down menu appears.

    3. Scroll down til you see Avatar. Click it.

    4. Click Browse to choose a pic you have stored in your computer.

    5. Click the pic you want. Then click Open.

    6. Click Okay.

    Hi Patti

Thanks for the info. I'll have Gordon see if he can implement same.

I am always impressed when people look at something with a new
viewpoint. Here's an example I found on the net yesterday.

"Everyday I beat my own previous record for number of consecutive
    days I've stayed alive."

Hope you're having a good day. Well, good as possible.
