Would twitching eyes be a side effect of elavil?? I take trazadone 50mgs, 25 elavil. It used to be 50mgs trazadone, 10mgs elavil. My eye lids have been twitching away since I upped the dose. Has anyone else had this experience? It is very annoying. Just wondering...

This was one of the earliest symptoms I had.

Periodically, I still have it occur.

Recently, one did it for a month.

I don't know if this is true, but I heard on the TV that if you have this problem, you are probably calcium defiencient. And magnesium would be good also..

Thanks for your answers to my question.
I did, come to think of it, have the symptoms before. Maybe it is just a symptom of FM. Or it could be I am lacking something, I never thought of that. Thanks!

I had that problem several years ago for several weeks and only occassionaly now. I was told it is stress related and at the time I was given a very low dose of Valium. It stopped it very quickly.

I had this problem a while back. My eyebrow twitched on and off for a few days. I finally called an eye specialist, b/c it was driving me crazy. They asked me if I was under a lot of stress. I was. They told me it was stress related. Go figure!!

Come on now, me stressed you guys. You are kidding right???
Stressed? Why? From what??? Yes I believe you all have a point there. I am just a tad stressed. My son crashed a motorcycle (not wearing helmit) broke his arm and knocked
    out five front teeth.

Also, 2 of his friends have been staying at my house, they got kicked out of theirs so kind hearted me have let them stay. These kids are in early 20's. I call my house Hotel California!

I could go on and on, no I am not stressed, dangit!

this is ging to sound funny but when i was in high school i had a biology teacher that used to tel us to eat a banana when we had eyelid twitching. she said the twitching was caused by a potassium insufficiency and bananas are high in potassium. i don't know if this is really true but it's worth a shot.
