Friends, I have not posted in a while since the pain has been so bad. I only wish for a day w/o pain. I read that someone posted that neurotin and antibiotics made a great difference, well I have been on them for about a month no change , I am just at the end of my rope . I feel like I am a prisoner of my body and i of course have to be stricken with the most sevee case of it. I want to live a normal life but its impossible to even make plans since, I feel bad and feel like the only thing I can take the edge off is pain meds which at this point are not really helping much . So sorry for being such a downer its just hard and this month its 2 years God how I have prayed but I guess its not to be. Thanks for listening friends.

    Love,

    Deanna

I know you're feeling bad, but please try to find something that will make you feel better... maybe a hot bath or a short walk outside ( i don't know what your weather is like, but its just a thought) sorry i don't really have any outstanding advice, i guess i just wanted to offer my support. you're definitely not alone.
God bless and soft hugs, Dena

I am so sorry for all your pain. Neurontin and an antibiotic by themselves will not address the pain. I was in severe pain and was on Morphine until I could get some relief from the Guai treatment and from physical therapy.

I now take the antibiotics and Klonopin. The Klonopin helps me sleep, helps with the anxiety/panic attacks, and helps diminish the tinnitus and sensory overload. Helping me sleep undoubtedly helps with the pain, but new research is underway to determine whether Klonopin actually interferes with the pain messages in the brain and acts as a pain killer. In any case, the benefits of the Klonopin are not up to severe pain.

Your doc needs to address this pain issue.

    Love, Mikie

Please know that you are not alone. Although I wish none of us had to suffer the way we do it is helpful sometimes to be reminded that others have been there or are there now.
I too have been suffering with agonizing pain that my drs seem to want to ignore. I take Vicodin and that is it. I take the 5/500 3x a day two tabs at a time. They only take the "edge" off, if that makes any sense at all. Sometimes I feel slight relief but usually nothing at all. The pain just is so bad you want it all over with. My faith in the Lord is all that gets me through. I do have a wonderful husband, children and parents but as you know they really do not "get it", but are supportive as they can be. Unless you suffer from it is seems so far away.
Please, get with your dr and insist on new and stronger meds ... NO ONE should have to suffer this way. (of course I should practice what I preach). You are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep on keepin on!!!

I have a very high threashold for pain. In my worst time with fm it brought me to my knees. even getting up to go to the bath room almost wasn't worth it. Do a search on Microdose, I have been on the program for over a year almost 2 It was my answer but does not work for everyone. If it does work you will have results in one week or less. My "self diagnosed" pain level was 129 within two weeks I had a 70% reduction in pain.
Do the search, read...read...read. Only you can decide if it's right for you. If you hurt as bad as I did the asnwer is a quick one.
    Best of luck to you.

So sorry you've been in such bad pain. I've definately been there. I don't know if my experience and suggestions will help, but I thought I would offer my experience. I've been lucky enough to find a "pain Specialist". I actually found him due to my Mother being referred to him. He is a anestheiologist, does a lot of injection therapy, but also pain meds. He now is handling my pain medication. My other Dr. was understanding but didn't know a whole lot about fibro and MFS. I also found out thru MRI pain dr. ordered I have two degerating cervical disks and a herniated disk that probably triggers the extreme neck, head, face pain I have. The thing about these Dr's is they have special training and understanding of prescribing heavy duty pain meds. I think a lot of regular dr's only know old info and fear "addiction". I'm still looking for a main fibro dr. Will see a new dr this month, a rheumotologist. I plan to take a lot of info I've culled from this website and a list of drugs I haven't tried, incuding the nuerotin you mentioned. Anyway, I know this is long, but I've been in the that spot that I felt liking curling up and dying. Hang in there, you will find a dr. who can give you some relief. Luv and hugs, Di

I have had ME for 7/8 years and pain was my biggest problem. However, since it was discovered that I had an underactive thyroid and was started on Eltroxin, the pain is virtually a thing of the past. I was like you once so hang in there.

There is something called the Paitence's Bill of Rights and #1 on the list is that you have the right to be free of pain.

It is time to call your doctor and tell him you have to get out of pain or to give the name of a pain management doctor. Again I tell you "YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE FREE OF PAIN" and if your doctor hesitates, you need to remind him of your rights.

There are many different pain meds: pills, shots and patches and your doctor has to find something for you. You might want to talk to him about putting you in the hospital for a 23 hour stay while they experiment with the different pain meds until you are out of pain.

I do not know if you have insurance or not, but if you do and you can not get your doctor to do anything the next stop is to go to the emergency room to try to get a 23 hour stay to try to find a pain mixture that will work to get you out of pain. I will say it once again, Remember your rights - you have the right to be out of pain, demand it.

My thoughts and my heart goes out to you.
