    Hi friends and newbies,

I don't post here much anymore, but I wanted to let everyone know I'm okay. After suffering from remitting/relapsing chronic fatigue for 7 1/2 years, I was diagnosed with longstanding Lyme Disease last October. I've been on ABX straight since December under a Lyme specialist in Springfield, MO. I slowly inched my way out of this hell and suffered a minor relapse the month of May.

I found doxycycline and ceftin the most tolerable abx. I'm also on Nystatin to prevent yeast. I take a multi, Cordyceps, pcynogenol, ProBoost (3 pkgs. a day), Epicor, probiotic pearls, Bulouke, and .5mg melatonin(bedtime.) I'm functioning between 75-80% of normal.

Well, I went back to work full time Wednesday after a two year hiatus. Yes, it's been rough. As soon as I get home I go to bed for awhile. I'm not making the suppers or doing the dishes in the evening. Someone else can do that. I also took a nap in my car Friday during lunch. Very refreshing.

It hasn't been easy. It's just one day at time.

    Best wishes to everyone.

I hope you continue to feel better.

Treating Lyme and co-infections has helped my CFS also.

    Hi CherylSue,

Thanks much for the update. Congratulations on finding ways to make it work for yourself at work. At my last job I had in 1994, I would often go out to my van and rest and sleep, sometimes every other hour or so. Finally got to the point where I couldn't do it any more.

I was wondering about your LLMD in Springfield. Do you know whether it would be OK for you to post his name here? I'll be visiting my brother in N. Arkansas this fall, and if my ND doesn't get to my Lyme testing before I leave here, I would consider going to an LLMD in Springfield who would be only a couple hours drive away.

It's good to hear stories of people like yourself who are improving after finding a diagnosis and a treatment that works. I suspect it inspires many of us here to do the footwork and do this testing for ourselves.

    Kind Regards, Wayne

    Thanks, Frango and Wayne.

Wayne, I can't post Lyme doctors' names here. However, I frequent the lymenet forum and you can private message (email) on that site. It really is a nice feature that I wish this site had. You don't have to share email addresses, it's all done thru the site which ensures privacy.

Doctor's are always referred by the initial of their last name. You can also make a request seeking a doctor and that forum will give you plenty to choose from.

Also, it's not always just Lyme. There are several coinfections that go with that illness. I suspect I have babesia and mycoplasma, too, as seen through a blood microscopy by a naturopath.

Antibiotics are almost a given in the treatment of lyme and its coinfections. Alternative methods can help somewhat, but you really need the silver bullet of long term abx, unfortunately.

    Good luck.

    Hi CherylSue,

I've been having a saga this summer. If you want, you can read my latest journal thread. I'm up to number 22!

Basically, I discovered I was suffering from mold poisoning, I moved out of my apartment which had toxic mold in it, I moved into a temporary apartment while I hunted for a new home, and then I fled from the temp apt when it got toxic mold in it. Whew.

So, yes, I am feeling better! And I bet your story will inspire a lot of people.

    Hi Cheryl Sue,

I'm so happy to see you posting your progress!

Considering where you were a year ago, that's really great.

I think about you often and have been hoping you'd be able to make it back to work this fall. Congratulations.

If you have time, perhaps you might paste your note onto a thread that I started, called:

CFS/FM: How Much Have You Improved?

I think it's a good thing for us to have this info in one place on the board, so that people have an idea of which approaches have been successful and also feel encouraged.

I'm doing really well now and so am thinking that maybe it's time to revisit the antibiotics. I don't think that lyme is my main problem (that would be toxic mold), but since I'm at the point where I can tolerate antibiotics I'm sort of inclined to see how far I can take it.

My own doctors seem a little hesitant to prescribe long-term antibiotics or even order the IGeneX, and so maybe I should see an LLMD too. I'm going to e-mail you and ask for the name of yours.

Thanks so much for the update.

    Best, Lisa

I finished almost 2 weeks of work. I still take naps out in my car during lunchtime. It's one day at a time, but I'm really happy to be working again with students. It's what I love best, and it gives me an emotional boost.

Lisa, I see Dr. C in Springfield, MO. He's a popular doctor there, the same one Munch and her brother PJ sees. I am glad you are doing better.

Forbearance, I am going to check out your site. I hope the mold issue is an answer to your questionings. You certainly deserve a respite!

    Hugs to all,
