My friend turned me on to this song by Bruce Springsteen a few days ago. 'If I Should Fall Behind'.

I had never heard it. Love it. Here are the lyrics first, then the video below them.

He sings different versions - an acoustic version, and others. This video is the version he and his wife Patti sang with an Irish twist in a Dublin concert.

    "If I Should Fall Behind"

We said we'd walk together baby come what may
That come the twilight should we lose our way
If as we're walking a hand should slip free
    I'll wait for you
    And should I fall behind
    Wait for me

We swore we'd travel darlin' side by side
We'd help each other stay in stride
But each lover's steps fall so differently
    But I'll wait for you
And if I should fall behind
    Wait for me

Now everyone dreams of a love lasting and true
But you and I know what this world can do
So let's make our steps clear that the other may see
    And I'll wait for you
    If I should fall behind
    Wait for me

Now there's a beautiful river in the valley ahead
There 'neath the oak's bough soon we will be wed
Should we lose each other in the shadow of the evening trees
    I'll wait for you
    And should I fall behind
    Wait for me
    Darlin' I'll wait for you
    Should I fall behind
    Wait for me

Patti, That's a lovely video. I have one that I'd like to see posted but don't know how to do it. I've wanted to mention it in one of our song games but it didn't fit any of the categories.

It's called "Eres Tu" in Spanish, and also "Touch The Wind" I found it on a video of the Lawrence Welk Show by a singer named Anacani. She sang it in Spanish, but I know there was an English version in the '70's or '80's.
It was also recorded by a Spanish singing group called Mocedades.

It has a beautiful melody too. Eres Tu means "It Is You". I hope maybe you or someone can post it. Thanks GB

    That's You (Eres Tu)

    Yes, that's you
    Every wonderful sensation
    Yes, it's true
The touch of love in the night, that's you

    A promise of laughter
That is you, that is you
Sun in the morning on a mountain
The green of a meadow in the soft summer dew
Oh yes, oh yes, that is you

    You are the love song
Yes you are, yes you are
The silvery music of a fountain
The sensual whisper of a mellow guitar
Oh yes, oh yes, that is you

    Yes, that's you
    Every wonderful sensation
    Yes, it's true
The touch of love in the night is you

The love of my lifetime, you will be, you will be
The lingering rainbow I will follow
The greatest adventure in the world for me
Oh yes, oh yes, you will be

    Yes, that's you
    Every wonderful sensation
    Yes, it's true
The touch of love in the night, that's you

    Yes, that's you
    Every wonderful sensation
    Yes, it's true
The touch of love in the night, that's you

    Yes, that's you
    Every wonderful sensation
    Yes, it's true
The touch of love in the night, that's you

Here's an English version done by Amaya Uranga, lead singer of Mocedades from 1967 - 1984. It has the lyrics on the video.

    Spanish version by Mocedades.

These are the lyrics to the Ray Conniff version.

    Lyrics

    Eres Tu!
    Every wonderful sensation
    Yes...it's true!
The touch of love in the night, that's you!

A promise of laughter, that is you, that is you
Sun in the morning on a mountain
The green of a meadow in the soft summer dew
Oh yes, that's you Eres Tu!

    Eres Tu!
    Every wonderful sensation
    Yes... it's true!
The touch of love in the night, that's you!

The love of my lifetime you will be, you will be
The lingering rainbow I will follow
The greatest adventure in the world for me
I know that's you Eres Tu!

    Eres Tu!
    Every wonderful sensation
    Yes ... It's true!
The touch of love in the night, that's you.

Oh Eres Tu! Every wonderful sensation
    Yes...it's true!
The touch of love in the night, that's you!

Love in the night, that's you! Eres Tu.

    Hi Kids

Just listened to Perry sing Eres Tu. (Translation: Air is two.) I'd forgotten all
about that great old tune. Thanks for posting.

    HI y'all,

Have y'all listened to the RAY CONIFF version of Eres Tu:

I LOVE ERES TU! I actually still have the 45 rpm. Side A is the Spanish version, Side B is English, both by Mocedades, 1973. (As Patti posted above.)

I'm a fan of Springsteen. Been listening to his music since 1975 or so. :)

Here's a song by Patti Scialfa (Bruce's wife) that I like... (I enjoy her music too!):

AS LONG AS I CAN BE WITH YOU

    They say there's a light
    Through darkness shines
If two hands protect that light
    Against the change of time
You can have your gold and silver
    Build your kingdoms high
But it's just one of those things baby
    That money can't buy
So I don't care where we go baby
I don't care what we do
As long as I can be with you

    I've been lost
    And I've been found
Been lifted up to the gates of heaven
    And put back down
    I've walked in chains baby
    And I've walked free
But I never walk the way that I do
    When you walk with me
So I don't care where we go baby
I don't care what we do
As long as I (as long as I) can be with you

    Whoah, whoah, whoah
    Whoah, whoah, whoah
    Sha na na na na
    Sha na na na na
Sha na na na na na na
    Sha na na na na
    Sha na na na na
Sha na na na na na na

Well maybe I'm just a foolish girl
'Cause I always thought the right kiss
Could wash away some sins of the world
Wash away those sins baby and go walkin' free
'Cause that's just how I feel darlin'
    When you walk with me
So I don't care where we go baby
I don't care what we do
As long as I (as long as I) can be with you
As long as I (as long as I) can be with you

    Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah
    Whoah, whoah, whoah
Sha na na na na (whoah)

    Great thread!

Diane, smiling and listening to tunes :)

Diane, The Ray Conniff version is the one I've been searching for. Thanks! They are all beautiful. Spanish and English. My favorites are Ray Conniff, Perry Como and one that was by Anacani and the Lawrence Welk orchestra. I listened to it first yesterday. She sings in Spanish, lovely voice. GB

I love the way Patti Scialfa sings.

I like the Ray Coniff 'Eres Tu' best.

Here's the Anacani with Lawrence Welk Orchestra 'Eres Tu'

Patti, I deleted all my posts that were in the middle. I left the first and last ones. If you want to delete anything it's fine by me. My favorite videos are Ray Conniff, Perry Como, and Anacani. Anyone else have favorites? GB

    Hi GB.

I deleted some of my posts, too.

I'm leaving the two Mocedades versions for Diane.
