I just had a bone scan and I am supposed to start taking 1500 mil of calcium a day. My tablets also contain Vitamin D. You only need 400 units of Vitamin D a day. If I take my 5 calcium tablets I will be overdosing on Vitamin D.

Does it hurt to take too much Vitamin D?

    Thanks

Vitamin D is one of a few vitamins that you can O.D. on but the amount you're taking won't make you do so. Vitamin D is a precursor for Calcium, it helps it be absorbed by the body better. Unless you weigh 98 lbs. soaking wet, I wouldn't worry about it. Even then, it's a long shot. The 400 mgs. is just the RDA, everyone could stand to take double at least.
Ask Mad Wolf, he'll know. N
