    Hi Kids
Have been thinking about a new game. I thought of a couple, but it turned
out we had already done those topics: toys; directions. So how about songs
that indicate a longing, a yearning, a desire, a...well, you get the picture.

Speaking of which, one of Jeanette and Nelson's pictures was The New Moon
by Sigmund Romberg which contained the song Wanting You.
"Wanting you, every day I am wanting you
Every night I am longing to
Hold you close to my eager breast."

The Sweetest Story Ever Told. "Tell me that you love me..."

    Don't Fence Me In
"Give me land, lots of land, under starry skies above..."

All I Want For Christmas (is my two front teeth).

Bring Him Home from Les Miserables.

    Be My Love
"For no one else can end this yearning."
    Mario Lanza's first hit song.

'I Want You To Want Me' by Cheap Trick

I want you to want me

I want you to want me
I need you to need me
I'd love you to love me
I'm beggin' you to beg me

I want you to want me
I need you to need me
I'd love you to love me

I'll shine up the old brown shoes,
    Put on a brand-new shirt
I'll get home early from work
If you say that you love me

    Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you cryin'?
    Ohh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you cryin'?
Feelin' all alone without a friend, you know you feel like dyin'
    Ohh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you cryin'?

I want you to want me
I need you to need me
I'd love you to love me

If "Wishes" are included in this category:

"When You Wish Upon a Star" From Disney's "Pinochicco"

"Three Coins in the Fountain" ...Just one wish will be granted...

"A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" From Cinderella

"That's My Desire" From 1931, recorded by Patsy Cline and others.

"Old Floks at Home" (Swanee River) by Stephen Foster
...still longing for the old plantation....

Hey, Patti. Good to hear from you.
GB, of course wishes are included.

And here are a couple more.

I Want A Girl (Just Like the Girl that Married dear old Dad)
Unchained Melody, I've hungered for your touch, I need your love, etc.

The Wayward Wind is a restless wind
A restless wind that yearns to wander
And he was born the next of kin
The next of kin to the wayward wind.

    I'd walk a million miles
    For one of your smiles,
    My Mammy!

Al Jolson sang My Mammy in the first talkie, The Jazz Singer. Wikipedia
says the first to perform the song was William Frawley. Remember
    him? AKA Fred Mertz.
