    Does anyone else experience this?

I have CFS but recently got some new symptoms.

First I get a weird spacy feeling in my head, followed by feeling very cold for no reason. Then my legs start trembling and teeth start chattering. I can actually get really relaxed during this, then all of a sudden other symptoms like sneezing, heart racing, involuntary coughing, or the urge to urinate or have a bowel movement.

Lasts anywhere from 10 minute to on and off for a couple of hours. Feel like I have been hit by a truck for a few days after this.

I would love to know I am not the only one that this happens to! My doctor has no idea--maybe a stress reaction??

I call my disease restless fatigue because of this. Our bodies actually need a cretain amount of energy in order to properly relax.

It could be a stress reaction or a viral thing or nervous sytem shift. I would talk about nerve medication.

For me these symptoms seem to lesson when I stay hydrated - meaning drinking water all the time.

    Hope you find relief

It's possible you might be getting Multiple chemical sensitivities. If you have the money buy an air purifier and see if it helps.

    Thanks for the responses...

I will try drinking more and also you may be onto something with the MCS--I just got a new desk last week. It doesn't smell like anything but you never know what chemicals came along with it.

I have seen a doctor about this and she is perplexed.

I did a bit more googling today and found someone with similar symptoms who also has hyperparathyroidism. I had that too (surgery in 2004) so I wonder if this has anything to do with it.

Hayley--that is very sweet of you to be concerned and follow-up--thank you!

Actually I have seen 2 specialists--I had this years ago and it went away and then just came back again. So the symptoms are 'new' for now, but I did have this briefly in the early 90's.

It sounds like a few others may have something similar too, so it's good to know it's not just me.

This past March, I laid down to take a nap. After about 30 minutes I woke up. My teeth were chattering and I was so cold I thought I might be going into shock. My BP and pulse rate were sky high. I went outside and stood in 75 degree sun. It didn't help. I finally got into a hot shower, which finally worked. This happened before I found the cause. The chemicals in my air freshener were attacking me.

I will wake up shaking during the night and am more prone to having tremmors in the morning hours. I feel weak and shakey as if i have run a long race or have been out in the cold too long. My doctors response went something like ..... hmmmmm i don't know what is causing that .... with no follow up on it like it didn't really matter. It is a frustrating feeling but it hasn't seemed to hurt me. Very annoying though. Best Wishes to you

I had those symptoms from adrenaline rushes. I would start to shiver in the heat of the summer. It happened when I was talking to someone about my ex husband because I would get all upset. It was big big rushes of adrenaline. My neuro doctor said that is what it was.

    Thank you for the responses!

Please tell me how you were able to find out it was your air freshener. I have also woken up from sleep with this so it sounds pretty similar. This is intruiging.

I was very stressed earlier this year with family member illnesses. It started happening almost when the stresses had let up.

My main stress now is these darned symptoms!!

Those weren't the only things going on with me. I started waking up with my BP about 180/110 and pulse of 130. I thought I was getting ready to have a heart attack or stroke. I went to the ER. The diagnosed me with hypertention. I thought about it and realized I felt okay when I was outside. I also knew that I didn't develop High BP overnite. I got on my computer and investigated. I had aspartame poisoning two years ago. Apparently it damaged my hypothalmus and/or neorotransmitters. When I got rid of the air freshener stick I improved. But, now I have full blown MCS. At my next dr. appt. I'm gonna' have him order me one of those alpha stim things. It's the only thing I've read about that gives me any hope.

You don't have to be in the situation at that moment. I was telling someone about the incident and I started to get all those symptoms. The neurologist said that when your body is use to being under stress or "ready for flight" for so long, it does not know what to do when you not. It is like it has been programmed and doesn't know what to do after the stress or anxiety is gone.

Woofmom, how were you diagnosed with aspartame poisoning?
    And, who diagnosed it?

After spending about 20 thousand dollars and getting this, that, and the other test I got on my computer. My neuro had diagnosed me with cluster headaches. NOT!!For some reason I researched amino acids which led me to aspartame. I dumped that poisonous garbage and made an almost over nite recovery. The dr. didn't diagnose me. I'm the one who told him.
