Ok, I have to get a Comp Metabolic Panel, Cholesterol, Total, Sed Rate by Mod West, Lyme Disease with Reflex, IgG, Igm, ANA & RF.

    The dx codes are VS8.69, 311, 780.79, 066.1, 729.1, 716.90 & V70.0

I also have to fast for 12 hours prior to the lab work.

Can anyone decifer these? She didn't tell me what she would be testing for & I "surprisingly like to be "kept in the loop" when it comes to my healthcare.

TIA, everyones been so great here. I'm glad I'm back.

    311 - Depressive disorder

    066.1 - tick borne fever

716.90 - arthropathies (joint diseases like arthritis)

    729.1 - soft tissue disorder

    780.79 - malaise and fatigue

    V70.0 - general medical exam

V58.69 (I couldn't find anything starting with VS) - long term (current) drug use excluding drug abuse, drug dependence and HRT.

The lab tests concur with the dx codes. Hope this helps.

    God Bless.

I can help with the diagnosis codes

V58.69 - Long-term (current use of other medications)

311 - Depressive disorder, not elsewhere classified

780.79 - Other malaise and fatigue

    066.1 -Tick-borne fever

729.1 - Myalgia and myositis unspecified

716.90 - Arthopathy, unspecified (site unspecified)either your physician didn't document the site in which case the coder should have questioned the physician. This is not a good code IMHO) If it is multiple sites the code would be 716.99

    V70.0 - General medical examination

I hope this helps a little,

    Karen :)

    Hi Tracii,

I'll give a stab at these abbreviations.
Complete Metabolic Panel-do believe this is to check potassium, sodium, calcium, etc. To see how your kidneys, liver, etc are doing

    Not sure about the Total
Sed Rate is to see if there is any inflammation
IgG is to do with allergies I think
    Igm is Immunoglobulin
    ANA-Antinuclear antibody
    RF-Rheumatoid Factor.

If you put in lab tests in a google search it should give you some answers also.

Looks like your dr is ruling out things first.
    I hope this helps.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Ok, so at the bottom where it says DX: & lists the dx codes, does that mean she dx'd me with these or is that what she is checking on?

How do the listed dx's actually relate to the bloodwork being ordered?

I am on estrogen replacement therapy (HRT).

She is ruling out those diagnoses. That's what the lab work is for.

    God Bless.

What year of the ICD-9-CM are you using? Because I am wondering where you came up with the definition of code 729.1.

that I wanted to be tested for disorders mistaken/go along with FM.

Apparently (we don't speak) my father was dx'd with FM years ago & recently found out he was misdiagonosed & really has advanced Lyme's.

I also have swelling in my hands, knees & feet - which is supposed to not be a symptom of FM.

Forgive my forgetfullness today - I overdid things & must be flaring. All I REALLY want to do is sleep.

I SO appreciate everyone's help on this board. ~Tracii

These are you diagnoses even if a test were to come up negative and your physician feels you have an infection for example it is the physician's call.

There is no lab test for depressive disorder or general exam it looks like the physician may have just written all codes for that visit on your order.

Well anyway I wish you luck with everything.

    Take care,

all of this stuff (since so many of you have been through it all) I will gladly listen!

& certainly appreciate it! I don't have the time in the day to do even a quarter of what I'd like to get done. Mom & hubby will be home soon, so I have to at least pick up after myself, brush my teeth, etc. so it doesn't look like I've been "playing" on the internet all day. ARGGGGG!
