I dont read nearly as much as i used to, but ive noticed the bookclub here, and i think back to some of my favorites, ones that i could read over and over and not tire of. some of my favorites are:
midnight in the garden of good and evil
    the shining
silence of the lambs(other than hopkins performance, the movie was a disappointment, as were the movies in the other ones ive listed)
the color purple(loved the movie, too)

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good read?
    thanks, otis89

Otis shows up in crosswords now and then: inventor of the elevator.

See the various book club posts by KHolmes. Recent posts include We Need Suggestions for our July Book.

I thought Red Dragon was Harris' best book. Am currently reading the latest from Maeve Binchy and Carl Hiaasen.

Mysteries-- Iris Jonansburg? missing up her name badly there!! but she writes mysteries- sometimes series type books, some romance but not too much, James Patterson, Lisa Jackson, Lisa Gardner, pretty much anything except science fiction.

You can tell what my life has sunk to!

This is what I read on a regular basis:

    Soap Opera Digest
    Soap Opera Weekly
    TV Guide
    Taste of Home Magazine
    Martha Stewart Magazine
    Good Housekeeping Magazine
Arthritis Today Magazine (this is very informative!)
    Diabetes Today Magazine
    Diabetes Forecast
    Prevention
    Readers Digest

Plus a few more "women's type" and health-related magazines. I also glance through some of the dozens of magazines that my hubby gets on farming/ranching, etc.

I haven't read a real book for ages!
