I have a script for generic Ambien, but I have to really stretch this one out untli I can see my doctor on July 17th.

I've tried melatonin (sp) but that doesn't work that great for me. I also drink sleepy time tea and that helps a little and I take a calicum, zinc & magnesium pill.

Not sure what else over the counter to take.

    Any other ideas?

Ambien was horrible for me, however, you may be different. I would get up in the middle of the night 2 or 3 times and not be able to go back to sleep. Now i just take tramadol before bed and it works like a charm.

I have NO trouble sleeping these days but in the past I've tried Klonipin and Valium, Ambien gave me a headache. Sorry I know these aren't over the counter. Good Luck!

You might try benedryl ( the generic store brands are all diphenhydramine)

I'm taking Calms forte, Klonopin, Dalmane & L-tryptophane. I begin the night with l/2 Klonopin and one tryptophane, & then wake up, and take another l/2 Klonopin, tryptophane & Dalmane to get me thru the night.

I order tryptophane online. Used to take it back in the 80's when I didn't need an RX and loved it.

Sleep is so critical for us.
