Good morning all! HA! Maybe for Nancy, but not for other's!

I looked at your posts. You are all very busy and pretty healthy! A good week, day, hour, minute, etc., are things to savor, aren't they?

Thanks Ellen for starting this thread last week! Sometime's I totally space things! Which I did with last week's list!

I went to ER, for my gastroparesis, and ended up in the hospital for two nights. My digestive system is out of control.. hmmm.. go figure! Guess those 'Gastro Gods' didn't think I spent enough time in the ICU, last February!

Hope you all have a good week! I'll check in as the week progresses!

    Good morning all!!!!!!!!

Kim, sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well again...seems like it's been a really rough year for you.

Today I have plans to shop at the commissary in bulk. I like to stock up on tp, pt, juice etc when the winter weather starts so if I can't get out, I'll have what I need.

Of course, hubby's home for Veteran's Day today so that would help too.

I need to water my plants today, finish some laundry and just putz around a bit.

It snowed Saturday morning, really beautiful....

    Hugs and good health all,

It's Veteran's Day and we have no school. Instead we will go to the dentist for check ups.....he's a nice dentist, Nancy!

Next I am getting my hair highlighted....helps cover the gray!

I hope to plant some flower bulbs that have been sitting here waiting for me....

    Rehearsal tonight.....

    Take care, all!

Where did the weekend go? This has been a busy morning at work and I am leaving an hour early. I am going to be so busy this week (three dr. appts.) that this afternoon is the only time I have to go out to lunch with Jim. But I have to leave an hour early from work to do it.

Unfortunately, I didn't sleep too well last night. I woke up with my hips and lower back hurting. It's raining today so I think the weather isn't helping. Yesterday I was hurting, too, but my husband and I managed to go to a movie.

Linda: If you haven't seen it yet, go to the movie called "P2"-I guarantee that it's a really good scary one. I was watching part of it with my hands over my face with my fingers opened!

    To-do list:

-take Albert and Chelsea to the vets
-pick up cat food at the vets
-have an easy dinner - Banquet fried chicken
-have a really long nap after the vets appt.

Sorry I can't write more, but I have to get back to work!

and it's raining and my cat has diarreha and my husband is doing a colonoscopy prep...SO!

Well, Ellen, I know the bit about not sleeping well last night. Neither did DH. I've been awake since four or so. Pretty tired now.

Kim! You must like hospital food or something! It's the "or something", I know. So sorry another bout of illness sent you there for a couple days. Take care of yourself this week. Slow and easy. How are DD and DSIL doing? How about Kevin?

    Need to clean up a bit...wash the cat's behind...poor baby. He's a mess but he's outside right now...ucky!

Well, now that I've made everyone ill, I'll leave and check in later. I'm sure you're glad to see me go today.LOL!

    Have a great day, folks...

Dish soap, washrag, and warm water....clean boy.

Washing a load of things in very hot water...another task started.

Life is so full of these sorts of incidents....(-:

Had a pretty busy weekend. Son came to visit Sat. and Daughter dropped off her laundry for the week.UGH!!!
Went out to eat for or B-days Sunday. Had a nice meal and them the IBS set in. Oh well...

My b-day is Thursday and Hubby's is Wednesday...Not sure if I'll do the cake thing this year. I guess I could make a angel food cake...on a low cholesterol diet.

Kim...hate to hear about your hospital saty. Hope you get better before turkey day.

Nancy...I need to get to Sam's club and get restocked before winter...

Terri...I asked daughter if she was embarrassed about my gray hair, that I thought about coloring it...she said she liked my sparkly hair...glad cause I was just testing her about the dye job.

Ellen...glad you mentioned the vet...I have got to take my baby, he hates to go...he does really good wtih all the girls that work there, but when he sees the vet in the hallway is growls and barks at him. I took the muzzle last time and asked Doc if he wanted me to put it on him, he laughed like he thought it was real funny until Freeway tried to make a snack of his finger. He just weighs 8 pounds.

Sue...maybe hubby was secretly prepping the cat for the colonoscopy.

    Hello to everyone else.

today haws been a really nice warm day...
I washed my rugs and hung them outside to dry
bathed the dog(should have hung him outside to dry too)

want to try to do a little shopping this week.
    hugs to all

    Good morning all!

I wrote my list in good faith yesterday and didn't get anything done!

Hubby still isn't feeling well so I decided to just putz with him all day and let him get some rest instead of stocking up on groceries and making him drag them all in the house.

We mostly played free online poker yesterday but had a blast doing it.

I'm not sure if I'll feel up to doing the grocery shopping myself today but it is a possibility.

Let's hope for a good health week for all....

was also nice- like my dentist. She did my hair for much less than a salon because she works out of her home. Then she sent along some veggies for us- think I'll make stir fry tonight! I did give her a tip- it's the first time I've gone to her.

Linda, I'm going to juice a lot of the apples and freeze the juice. Everybody likes the fresh tasting juice and I still have some freezer space!

Not much else new, so I'll send this along.

It's been a busy morning at work. I've got a lot done on a large project-semester class evaluations. It's my job to get the forms ready for all the other building secretaries. Now that those are done, I can start getting my forms ready for the professors in my building. I can't believe it's that time again. The professors will start having their classes evaluated the week after Thanksgiving.

Kim: I didn't mind starting the post last week. I'm so sorry you were in the hospital again. I hope you're doing better now.

Nancy: Did you have to say that awful "s" word? (snow) I'm still in denial that it could snow here soon, although we are in a warm spell here right now. It was in the upper 50's yesterday and it's supposed to be in the low 60's today. Maybe it's our Indian summer?

Terri: I still can't decide what I will do with my gray hair. So far I only have a small amount so I keep plucking it out. My husband says I should age naturally, but I'm not fond of gray hair.

Sue: I'm so sorry Felix was sick. One of my cats (I think it's Chelsea, my oldest) has been throwing up lately. Unfortunately, she has thrown up several times in Harry's favorite chair, which doesn't help him like her any better. Yesterday I found a spot in our middle bedroom with the off-white carpet. (no, I didn't choose the off-white carpet-the other owners put it down) Maybe her stomach is getting sensitive with old age.

Linda: I've been checked and the doctor said I don't have arthritis. I do find, though, that often with my lower back and hips that if I get up and move around, that often it will feel better.

Anne Theresa: Just wanted to welcome the new addition to your family. I'm sorry about your brother and his family. Who knows what makes people do what they do. Maybe he will change his mind and go back to his family in time.

Lacey: I had to laugh at the story about your dog. My cat, Chelsea, is pretty vocal. She definitely told the vet off yesterday.

Okay, now on to my to-do list:

    -vacuum carpet
    -pool therapy class
    -make hamburger pie for dinner

Hello friends, My weekend was nice - a wonderful visit with my nieces - and then yesterday, since sweetie had the day off from work - we did some heavy-duty housecleaning.

Of note, we cleaned and re-arranged the furniture in the living-room - removed the clunky end-tables in favour of something smaller - and now the room looks just lovely, spacious & crystal clean.

Also, we cleaned and re-arranged the furniture in the rec. room since we'll be using this space as a guest room over the holidays. It looks much better now. Considering the rabbit lives uncaged down there, it's quite a pleasant and livable space.

This morning I did most of my daily chores but still have a few jobs left:

    make bed
    vacuum hallway
    swipe bathroom
clean outside of kitchen cupboards (I'll leave the inside of the cupboards to clean tomorrow)
clean cast-iron legs of coffee table

I'm going shopping this eve., at least for a short time, with my friend. I'll need a nap if I'm going to manage an outing today. I'm tired from yesterday's housework-a-thon, though feeling relatively well.

    God bless,
    Anne Theresa

    Good Morning all...

I did manage to get my grocery shopping done yesterday, felt like I had all the energy in the world, then by 3:00 I was in bed and felt like the bottom dropped out.

My daughter's coming in today and needs me to drive her to her class this morning. Will probably need a ride home too, hope I feel up to it.

Nothing else planned for the day, the housekeeper comes thank goodness.

Anne Theresa, good to hear that you're up and about again.

Ellen, it snowed again last night and it was just beautiful. So far it's not sticking, but it sure is pretty to watch.

    Hugs all,

I got another call last night about my newspaper article on FMS. This person just wanted to talk. Just when I think I won't get any more calls-I get another one. I think this is maybe the 12th or 13th call. My husband surprised me by doing the dishes while I was on the phone. So that was nice having the kitchen cleaned up.

It's going to be another busy morning at work so I decided to get on here first thing. Today I see the dental specialist about my tooth. I will let everyone know the verdict tomorrow. I am sure he will say I need a root canal.

Anne Theresa: You certainly were ambitious. It's great that you had your sweetie there to help you. Isn't it a great feeling to have a room cleaned and re-organized?

Nancy: The snow is pretty, especially on evergreens. I think I would like it better if I didn't have to get out in it. I'm always nervous about driving when the roads get slippery.

Linda: I hope your husband's doctor appt. goes okay and the diagnosis doesn't change. Keep us updated.

Sue: So how is Felix doing? I hope no more diahhrea. So far no more upset tummies at my house. I scrubbed my off-white carpet yesterday and the stain came out, thank goodness. It was right in the doorway where you could really see it.

    To-do list:

-walk on the treadmill at the Sports Center at the College
(I have some time to kill before my dr. appt. today so
I decided to get in a workout while I am waiting)
    -dr. appt.
-hot dogs or fish sticks for dinner (something easy)
-make chili for tomorrow's dinner (I think chili is better
if you make it a day ahead)
    -vacuum kitchen and bathroom
-finish washing a load of laundry

Well, back to working on class evaluations. Talk to everyone tomorrow!

Husband's tests were fine! Thank God for that.

Felix is better, thank you for asking.

Have a thousand things to do, but so upset. Fired contractor...wrote a post about it.

Too angry to write anymore, but glad to see everyone is doing well...

    Houseworkathon....I need that!

    You guys are the best.

Sorry I'm in such a rant....have so many phone calls to make right now about our house.

Will try to be more positive later today. Hope you all have a good, pain-free day.

Kim, I hope you're feeling better after your recent and unplanned hospital stay. You're in my prayers.

Sue, I read your post about having to fire the contractor and my heart goes out to you. This kind of hassle is the last thing you need. I hope your cat is better (never a dull moment!) and that your husband's tests were fine.

It's amazing. Ellen, that you're still getting calls about your FMS news article. This really speaks to the need for outreach & understanding. I hope the pain in your hips and lower back have eased up somewhat. These are problem areas for me too and the colder weather seems to make matters worse.

Linda, I hope you didn't over-do with the shopping. I went to the mall last evening and was surprised to see all the Christmas displays, hear the Christmas tunes on the sound-system, see Santa's booth set up & ready to go, etc.

It made me feel festive, but at the same time somewhat overwhelmed with the thought of all the shopping etc. I need to do between now & Christmas. I hope everything goes well at your husband's appointment on Friday. God bless him and you too.

Nancy, it sounds like you've been busy lately so I hope you get a chance for some down-time today. It's nice to see the snow isn't it? at least at this stage of the game when it's pretty rather than treacherous. Are the winters harsh in the part of Germany where you live?

Terri, I'm glad your hair turned out nice. I've started getting blond highlights and I just love the look. It sure does need to be kept up, though. At the moment, I have a 2-3 inch stripe of brown on top of my head so it's about time for me to see the hairdresser again.

Welcome, Joann! I'm embarrassed to tell you how long it takes for me to get to some of the tasks on my to-do list. Most of the jobs I procrastinate on are not that big or time-consuming, there's no rhyme or reason to it, it just doesn't make sense to me.

Lacey, I hope your IBS has calmed down. I know from experience how nasty that can be. My friend is a medical transcriptionist and she relayed the following remedy that one of her doctors is now recommending for IBS:

Eat daily a bowl of All Bran Buds with Phsyllium, as well as two servings of Activa Yogurt (this brand has the highest count of pro-biotics). She said she's tried this regime herself and her IBS is much better.

Greygoddess, Aside from your dentist's appointment, it sounds like you have a lot of fun things on the go. I hope you've been true to your plan of taking a lot of naps. There's nothing so nice as a restorative nap. Enjoy!

As for myself, I'm having a puttering-around-the-house sort of day today. I have no plans what-so-ever beyond taking it easy and enjoying myself. I'm not going to make a to-do list and I may or may not cook something for dinner, depending on how the spirit moves me. I wouldn't want to live with a long string of days like this (I'm sure boredom and depression would kick in after a while) but once in a while, boy, it's nice.

    God bless,
    Anne Theresa

I make it last six months, so it's not too bad. I pointed out to my hubby that doing my hair only twice a year was cheaper than having a simple wash and set every week. His mother is able to get a wash and set for $7.00- is that cheap or what?? I'm glad, because she lives on a fixed income.

It has gotten colder lately...I think I'm done apple picking. We are planning a nice Thanksgiving dinner at our friends' house, so I won't have all of that cleaning to do! I'll take over plenty of food, of course. What is everyone here planning for Thanksgiving? I'm taking apple pie!

AnneTheresa, I realize you've already had Thanksgiving.....was it nice?

My oldest son, who has been working full time for several months now, is complaining of a lot of foot pain. I hope he isn't getting a bunion, which I had surgery for about two years ago. I'm going to see if he can get his feet looked at soon.

    Have a good day!

It's another busy day at work, but I finally decided I needed to take a break and talk with all of you. I will be glad when this week of over. I just feel like I am on a fast treadmill-go-go-go!

Good news-I don't have to have a root canal! The news surprised me. The specialist said (now don't laugh) that I have small stones (calcium ones) in some of my teeth. He found three teeth that were sensitive and tooth an x-ray of them. He thinks that my tooth grinding is to blame and that I probably need a new tooth guard. He said even though it's not worn out, our teeth do shift in time and if it isn't fitting properly, it can cause the stones to form near the nerves and cause pain. I don't totally understand it all.

I have to continue to use the Sensydyne toothpaste and massage my gums with it before brushing. I have to go back to my regular dentist and see about getting the new tooth guard. I'm sure my insurance won't cover it and I know it will be expensive. I just hope it does the trick.

Sue: I'm glad your husband's doctor appt. went okay. Glad Felix is better. I haven't had a chance to read your other post, but I'm sorry you had to fire your contractor. You certainly don't need this kind of stress!

Anne: I'm happy to say I don't do too much Christmas shopping and I already have some of it done. I actually do it year 'round. Whenever I see something in the stores that I think someone will like, I get it for them no matter what time of the year it is. It seems hard to believe that Christmas is coming so quickly. Sometimes I feel sorry for the people who work in the stores. Since they decorate so early, they must get sick of the holidays.

    To-do list:

    -grocery shopping
    -pool therapy class
-chili for dinner (it's already made-just heat it up) It
should taste good to my husband-he has a cold

Well, I had better get back to my class evaluation project.
Yay-tomorrow's Friday! Where did this week go?
