What tests have you all had done... especially where fibromyalgia is concerned. I feel like I've only had the bare minimal, or basic testing done. After 6 years on a waiting list, I finally have an appointment with a very good rheumatologist. I would like to go and be very prepared. Also went to neurologist for radial tunnel syndrome and was going to ask the neurologist if he saw anyone just for fibro but he was really behind schedule that day and I felt it wasn't my place to ask at that time.. anyone seeing a neurologist for fibromyalgia and if so what do they do for you that a rheumatologist does not do?

Ok.. the tests I have had are the basic blood counts, lupus, ms, regular thyroid test, blood volume.... I think that is all.

    Thanks!

    levels of:
    vitamins
    minerals
    hormones (like, all of them)
    heavy metals
    viruses
    immune system
    fungus
    lyme

And other stuff I don't remember (test results show memory hormone is low! lol). Through the FFC, I got about 40 vials worth of blood testing done.

Why can't we be tested here for these things. Take as much blood as you want but test me for this crap.

They can test you for all of these things here. It's just that some of the laboratories are more accurate than others. For the lyme test, for exmple, there is only one lab in California that FFC trusts to give an accuate result, and they send all their lyme blood samples there. And for the rest of the tests, FFC uses Quest labs, because they know they are reliable.

Tests are evaluated differently here in Canada than in the U.S., the reference ranges of what is 'normal' are different, and the tests are probably carried out a little differently too. If you use an American doctor, it's easier for them to evaluate the American tests they are used to working with. And Canadian doctors are used to reading Canadian tests.

Don't hesitate get these tests run here if you want to. I just used the FFC's laboratories because that's the place I was working with, and that's the laboratory they are used to. It's fine to get the done here if you live here.

    love (( )) Shannon
