I just got myself a doctor yesterday after three years of being too sick to even look for one. (With your help, ty!)So, this is all new to me! She doesn't seem to know much about CFS, so I think it would be good for me to make some suggestions myself until I can get someone new to work with. On the plus side, she's nice and quiet and seems willing to take my lead. She ordered the tests I thought to ask for, and reffered me to the specialists I wanted. :)

I think the tests she's ordered for me so far are for thyroid and iron defficiency. She wants to test me for multiple sclerosis too and do an EEG. (I'm too nervous so far to check what multiple sclerosis is...) Just so I'm all taken care of, what are some other tests I should ask my doctor for? What conditions should we rule out, and what things should we check? Should I ask her to start giving me B-12 shots, and how often?

Thank you for your replies. I'm very young and have not had to do any of this before. Thanks for your help. (((( ))))
Also, is there some advice on how not to be nervous about medical tests??
    thank you! Shannon

do every blood test there is including the one for Lyme Also an MRI .The blood test are to make sure it is nothing else cause there are no test for FM or CFS.I have both.

I also have a neurologist who has done an upper and lower EMG.She found something when she did the lower so then I went for another MRI.Have not heard yet but hopping nothing serious.

My doctor also checked for MS.

Hope this helps cant remember the rest Brain Fog.

The only test on me that was not normal was the sleep study. All other tests were fine.

I've been tested for everything under the sun - all kinds of diseases - and everything was normal.

I wouldn't spend my money on all of those tests.

So as long as I'm getting the doc to order tests for me, I think they're all covered by my provincial health insurance. Keep those tests rolling in all! I wouldn't have thought of asking for all these. Thanks :)
