What the Intuitive told me....

Well....she wasn't as bad as I expected but also not as good as I had hoped.

She told me that after meditating, she "saw" that I have a good heart and am in some major struggles with myself. She told me that the root of my CFS are the untruths that I have been telling myself and that I suffer from unfulfilled goals. All I need to do is change the lies that I've been telling myself and I will be "cured". I told her that that sounds a little like deprssive disorder to me and she strongly disagreed.

Any way, I was pleased that she didn't offer to set up any future paid appts. She said that she already knew that I was having financial hardships and recommended some movie that could help me in the same way that she could. The movie (online) would only cost $4.95 vs her treatment at about $150.00 per hour. After I visited her web site, I was prepared to have to argue with her as to why I am not intersted in any future appts with her. She beat me to it and advised me to just view the movie.

All in all, I think the "reading" she gave me was probably a general one (for which I told her) but I am glad I spoke with her anyway. It was a try, but no help.

I watched it and I do feel we can manifest and create our own reality--to a point. If one is going in this direction, it is best to do some reading and find the common thread among all the resources.

The DVD, "What The BLEEP Do We Know?" is also an excellent film but usually requires several viewings to get it all. Also, it helps to know a few fundamentals of quantum physics in order to get the most out of it. Quantum physics is what has brought a resurgence of New Age philosophies and tried to unite science with spirituality.

    Good luck on your journey.

The movie is "The Secret"! I went to the site, but because I have dial-up, I don't think I will be able to view it. Also, I don't know if it is some kind of "witchy" movie or something...LOL. How did you learn about it? Could there be something to this "treat yourself by changing your thoughts"?

The movie is about $30 to purchase. Perhaps you can rent it or get it through the library.

The basics are that many people fail because they don't know how to ask, to pray, nor how to clarify exactly what they want to manifest in life.

I first learned of "The Secret" on the website for the BLEEP films. "The Secret" is so well done and I highly recommend it because it is precise and simple, laying out the steps to manifest and create in our lives.

When most people pray, they beg God for things, focusing on their need. This assumes that we are helpless at creating anything for ourselves. The premise of the film is that we can co-create with the Divine if we do it right.

Quantum physics has shown that experiments will change when we observe them. What we focus on affects events. If we change how we view this co-creation and learn to focus on what it is we want, those things will begin to happen in our lives. If all we focus on is our need, all we will get is more need.

I no longer ask God for healing. I thank Him for my healthy body which is healing. I focus on the tremendous abundance I enjoy and on the love I have in my life. This brings healing, love and abundance to me. I mention that I know this healing, love, and abundance will continue and that what I have focused on will come to me, or something even better. There is no limit of abundance in the Universe.

Traditional religious teachings make it hard to change how we see God and our relationship to Him. I found nothing blasphemous about this film. Some of these ideas may sound New Agey to some but really, the source of this new thinking is coming from a blending of spirituality and science.

I will give you a funny example of how I have used this in my life. BTW, you can't expect immediate miricles; start out with something simple. What will happen is that you will begin to see the magic and miracles which have become mundane to us. It's like putting on new glasses. I've found that everything looks more beautiful and clear to me now. I feel hopeful and grateful every day. But I digress...on to the example...

I had a slow flushing toilet (I told you this was funny :) It would aggravate me every time it clogged up. I plunged and tried every product in the Western Hemisphere to keep it unclogged. I decided to focus on the times it flushed as it should. I made a big deal out of it, pumping my arm and yelling, "Yes!" That toilet now flushes every time like a champ and I still get excited every time.

I can't wait to see what else I can help manifest in my life. If it works for a toilet, it has to work for other things too.

My sister begged me to come over and watch it.
    Loved it!
Now every morning and throughout the day I go through a list of 'I am's'.
I'll let you know what happens!

    Hi everyone

Can you tell me what the author of this program is called?

The movie is called 'the Secret' right? I will see if the library can order it for me.

If you want more info on the film.

Babs, I once saw something on TV where a woman with MS was cured of it when she was struck with lightening. I don't know what the connection is but we are electrical fields of energy. It's almost as though something in us gets out of whack during times of spiritual, emotional, and/or physical stress and we are never quite the same. New research is leaning in this direction. Perhaps a jolt of electricity "resets" our brains and bodies.

I'm not advocating anyone experiment with electrical current on his or her own. It could be very dangerous. The zapper helps me because it kills pathogens in the bloodstream. There are stronger electro-magnetic pulse machines which penetrate deeper into the body. I have decided that the zapper is safe but that I am yet to be convinced that these strong machines are completely safe.

If I knew there were a safe shortcut to healing, I would take it in a NY minute. As y'all know, my own healing has been very slow. Of course, all the treatments which have come my way, one at a time, were brand new and very cutting edge then. Now, the specialists and clinics are using the treatments more aggressively and results will likely be faster.

I do believe that I will be healed. I believe that I will be responsible for helping to manifest this healing. I will use traditional medicine, as well as metaphysical practices, to achieve it.

I find this whole question of electro-magnetic potential very, very interesting. Now uses for this in all areas of our lives will likely come forward as science advances. Thanks for telling us about your friend. Please keep us updated but be careful.

Cyndy, I'm glad you liked the film. Yes, please do let us know how this changes your life.

    Love, Mikie

Thank you so much for the positive review. It still sounds a little dark to me, though, but have an open mind. I have a very southern religious up-bringing and it sounds just a little like what someone from the "underworld" would have us do. But I do believe that our Creator did give us a mighty powerful mind for a reason.

I will see if my library can get it for me. Thank you again.

This is all very interesting to me, and I plan to get the movie. I have wondered for some time now if my FM was brought on by a nonfunctioning family. Won't go into it, but I have had this forever, yet 2 months before it knocked me to the floor my mother told me some horrible news about my past that we had never been told before.

I started having flashbacks of my childhood at that point, and then went without sleep for 6 weeks straight with a migraine constantly, and then the FM hit bigtime. I was embarrassed and ashamed to seek counselling about all this. Since having to quit my job a few months ago because of the pain, etc. I have had more time to think about all this.

Do you think it possible that this is something that could be caused (and perhaps treated) by facing all the facts through counselling, or through this movie? I think I could solve part of it alone if I had the right guidance.

    Thanks for your input.

I love how you said "non"funcional rather than "dys"funcional. Nonfuncional describes my family to the T.

I too have often wondered if any of this could have something to do with my family history, but if that is the case, then what can we do about that? We cannot get rid of our families, and even if we could, the damage is already done...right?

I have often told my therapist that I see no need in disclosing and hashing out my past because I recognize it and do not see how it has therapeutic benifit. I just don't understand all this, but I DO know that I am not getting well. Maybe this movie has some validity to it?

New research is lending credibility to what you are saying. Things which stress us early in life, even when we have repressed them and do not consciously remember them, can actually cause chemical changes which deregulate the brain, leading to our illnesses.

I am a big fan of therapy but it, by itself, is not a cureall. It can help us let go of baggage which is stealing our energy and keeping us fatigued and depressed. It is likely that we are predisposed genetically to our illnesses and that is why therapy cannot cure us by itself. It may, however, be a key part of a comprehensive treatment regimen which can get us into remission.

I do not believe that the movie is dark in any sense. In the old days, a very angry and vengeful God was taught. Today, we have more of a loving and merciful God we worship. When I think about it, prayer without belief that the prayers are being answered is a lack of faith. If I change my self-image of the victim to one of being a beloved spirit created in God's image, I have to believe that God expects me to pull my own weight in life. Yes, I do turn everything over to Him but my part of the bargain is to believe that all things are possible. That's all. That's the premise of the film.

The other part of the bargain is to live with an attitude of gratitude. I am thankful for what God has provided and by doing that, I am doing my part by focusing on what is good in life. What I focus on will increase in my life.

This is the basic premise of the film. I suggest prayer before viewing to ensure that your motives in viewing the film are clear--to gain in spiritual enlightenment.

I hope you enjoy it. Keep an open mind to what is being said. You have free will to accept or reject any ideas.

    Love, Mikie
