My fibromyalgia problem stems from my hypothyroidism. When I have the proper dosage of Synthroid, the fibromyalgia improves. When my dosage is too low, as is the case now, I suffer much more. That is a big part of the answer for me to getting relief from fibromyalgia pain. Other than that, exercise (walking) seems to help. The best help for my pain was when my Dr. gave me shots of lidocaine/sterile water. The trick is to have the shot put in an area where the pain seems to be centered. I have had these shots in my shoulders, front of my arm joints, and side of my hip area. Lidocaine is a numbing agent, and the shots work within two or three days at the most, and last a very long time. Unfortunately, I lost my health insurance and can no longer afford to get the shots.
