Let's take this week one day at a time, one hour, one moment, one task at a time.

Throughout the day, remember to pace yourself, take frequent breaks and avoid, if possible, the crash & burn scenario of doing too much at one time.

Linda, Anne Theresa & others -

Thanks so much for your kind words and concern. The ear specialist is thinking that the second surgery might not help my hearing. He did say that I still have packing, tissue and fluid in my ear from the surgery. He can put a hole in my eardrum and drain it, but that sounds kind of scary to me. He thinks I should wait a few more months and see if everything disintegrates and drains on its own. If not, drain my ear and see if my hearing improves.

So my next appt. is July 20. If I can still feel the fluid and there's still packing in my ear, I am going to request that he drain and clean my ear out and see if that helps. Unfortunately, I have been an odd case in this surgery! He said he isn't totally ruling out the second surgery, but did say I would be a good candidate for a hearing aid in that ear-not what I wanted to hear! But I will try to be patient and not get too upset about it. There's nothing I can do about it right now and at least I'm not totally deaf in that ear.

As for the nauseau feeling I've been having with my morphine, I am seeing my FMS doctor next week. I am fortunate I don't have this queasy feeling all the time, but I think that I will ask him about the anti-nausea medication.

My other response was getting so long, that I decided to do two responses.

We had a pretty good weekend and did some low-energy, fun things in our small town. I also managed to have some relaxation time at home.

Okay, here's my to-do list for today:

-type a letter for my husband (done)
-make corned beef and cabbage for dinner
    -exercise and take a shower
    -take a nap
-go to my painting class this evening

Where in the world did most of March go?

Ellen, I'll be sending warm wishes and thoughts your way....hope things get better soon.

My list...we heard from the landlord last night and it's ok if we move out on May 1st. Yeah!!! No more stairs...

Hubby is home today, he's leaving tomorrow to go to my Dad's house for a rest. It's a trip home we get for our 3 years here, but I don't feel up to using mine.

So we'll be packing him up. He's also flying to Vegas for his dream trip with my Dad and my son is going to meet them there for the weekend.

I worked a bit more on my storage room yesterday cleaning it out and finding boxes to pack things in. I've been bringing boxes up to my living room floor so one day I can just dig in and start packing my china cabinet and knick knacks.

So a shower would be nice today, and more organinzing.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. As for my ear, I just have a feeling of water in my ear, but it's better than it was. I do hear all these strange sounds especially when I would lay down, but that is improving, too. I know it takes a long time to totally heal from surgery, so I will try to be patient. So I have decided not to get myself all stressed out about this. What will be will be.

Nancy - So sorry you aren't up to traveling with your husband, but this will give you some quiet time and time to pack. As much as I enjoy time with my husband, I do love my alone times at home.

Okay, on to my to-do list:

    -empty wastebaskets (done)
-makes changes in a letter for my husband (done)
-go to my brother, Jim's, doctor appointment
    -leftovers for dinner

Take care, everyone. Talk to you tomorrow!

Our new kitchen floor was installed yesterday. It's positively beautiful, even nicer than I remembered from choosing it a few weeks ago.

The fridge, stove & all the kitchen furniture have been moved into the living-room and so, as you can imagine, the living room is too crowded to be of use. Because of this, I've spent all of yesterday and thus far today in my bedroom/office and I'm starting to feel a little stir-crazy.

When my sweetie gets home from work, and is able (with the help of our upstairs neighbour) to move the appliances etc. back into the kitchen, I'll have the chance to get the kitchen & living-room back in order.

In the meantime, there are a few things I can do:

    - clean bedroom/office
    - clean washroom
    - carpet sweep hallway
    - empty waste baskets

    God bless,
    Anne Theresa

I got a great idea from a magazine about storing our dvds. So we went to base and bought the storage thingies to put our dvds into and recycled our plasic cases. Huge difference on what we'll have to move and now storage for them is so easy. I didn't realize we had so many!

After he leaves, I plan to start on the cds and do the same thing. It's a great way to rest yet get something important done.

Since I woke up at 3:00 am this morning I'm not planning much after that.

    Hi, Everyone:

My husband just called me here at work and said we are having freezing rain. It wasn't freezing when I was driving here so I guess I just lucked out. It shouldn't last long as the temperature will be above freezing today.

Jim's doctor appt. yesterday went okay. His behavior is better and he is still taking both of his medications. The doctor is slowly increasing his one medication. She said it will take some time to see what both meds will do for his OCD. Jim's OCD is severe and because he refused to take meds for over two years, it will take several months to see how much he will improve. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he will continue to take his meds. and his behavior will continue to improve.

Okay, on to my to-do list:

-have a lunch date with my husband
    -read and relax

Ann Theresa - I'll bet your new kitchen floor looks great, although I'm sure you will be glad to have everything put back in place. I love our kitchen floor. We got it several years ago and it is so easy to clean. I just use a swiffer mop. This summer when I'm off work, I plan to paint our kitchen ceiling and put up new wallpaper. I know I will pay the price pain-wise for doing this, but I hate to pay someone to do something that I know how to do.

I feel extremely tired today even though I had a good sleep last night. I can't even find the energy to shower & shampoo, though I'll have to do that at some point today.

For now, after I check my email etc., I'm going to get under the blankets and read awhile. The house is nice and clean due to yesterday's toil, so I feel perfectly at ease in taking the day off.

For dinner, I'll thaw something and microwave (I cook meals on my good days and freeze for the days that I can't or don't want to cook.)

On the way home from work, my sweetie is going to pick up some vinyl glue. Unfortunately, we have to repair a few rips in the new floor that occurred while moving the fridge. My sweetie felt bad about the accident but I was able to laugh and say oh well shit happens and before long he was laughing at the inevitability of it all.

    Have a good day everyone.

    God bless,

Since my kitty woke me up before 5:00 in the morning again!!

Shower and shampoo is first on my list.

My daughter may be coming today to start packing her stuff.

Hubby is flying to Vegas today with my Dad and my son is meeting them there for the weekend. How I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that trip!!

I have an appt tomorrow on base with the doc to discuss my Endo report finally. Not sure if I should be worried since they got me in so quickly but I'm trying not to let it bother me.

    Hugs all,

Wren - You are quite an artist. I looked at the painting on your profile. I've been taking a painting class to learn how to paint flowers and other plants and have really enjoyed it.

Nancy - I know it's hard not to worry sometimes, but the doctor's office may have just had a last-minute cancellation and that's why they were able to get you in so quickly. Take care and I hope the appt. goes okay.

It feels like spring outside-so warm. We have a thunderstorm coming. The clouds are really dark and heavy.

My husband got up before me as he is taking his dad up to the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor for a test and dr. appt. today.

I had a burst of ambition yesterday. I had my husband move out two heavy pieces of furniture in our bedroom and I cleaned behind them. I have decided to start my spring cleaning and will just do a small amount at a time when I feel up to it.

    To-do list:

    -pool therapy class
    -vacuum laundry room
-dry and fold a load of laundry
-wash blankets the cats lay on at night

Well, I had better get back to work. Talk to everyone tomorrow!

I wasn't able to attend a friend's art show & sale (this past weekend) so last night he held a private viewing for sweetie and I. It was wonderful and so much easier than me trying to manage in a crowded room (lots of people attended the weekend show).

There were many works that spoke to us but we limited our purchase to two (amazing) pieces. I know they will look great in our space.

    1) tidy bedroom & living room
(kitchen & bathroom, I've finished already.)

    2) swiffer the hardwood & carpet sweep the rugs

    3) change into street clothes with make-up etc.

    4) to the spa for a massage & eyebrow waxing

    5) home to make dinner (mushroom & cheddar omelets)

    6) with sweetie's help, hang our new art

    7) repair kitchen floor

    God bless,
    Anne Theresa

It's been a really busy morning here at work. I only have an hour and then I'm off for the weekend.

    To-do list:

    -cash paycheck
    -get groceries (with husband's help)
    -have lunch out with husband

As for weekend, we don't have much planned. There is a movie at the theatre I'd like to see. Call a girlfriend I haven't talked to in awhile. Read and watch movies. Exercise.

See all of you on Monday!

I'm extremely tired again today, so my to-do list will be short & sweet.

    - dust bedroom/office
    - put dishes away / clean kitchen counters
    - empty wastebaskets
    - take a little nap
    - change into street clothes, make-up, etc.
    - a brief trip to the mall, window-shopping with a friend

    God bless,
    Anne Theresa

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and I also hope the weather is nice where you are. We've had a few days rain which (though terrible on my fibro-body) served to wash away a lot of the snow.

With the sidewalks clear, I'm going to take a little walk today and everyday, except during inclement weather. After such a long and sedentary winter, I expect it will be a challenge for me, both physically and mentally, to get back into the habit of taking daily walks. But I also know, after a few weeks of walking even though I don't want to, I'll begin to enjoy myself and, before long, I'll truly look forward to my walk each day.

    To-Do List

    clean/dust desk

    swiffer floors

    finish the kitchen floor repairs

    carpet sweep rugs

    sort laundry

choose new recipe (my goal of one new recipe per week has brought forth a few new favourites)

    make grocery list

go for a walk with my sweetie

    God bless,
    Anne Theresa
