    Morning all....

It's a good thing hubby and I cleaned out our storage area downstairs on Saturday. Many of our boxed items are molding so we bought huge plastic containers and now need to re-pack them all. Mostly treasured Christmas items, so I'm so glad we checked it out.

Hubby accidentally backed our car into a concrete wall after shopping on Saturday...so I spent Sunday with a little bit of whiplash and couldn't move my head yesterday.

That means I'll be taking it easy again today....if it's not one thing, it's another. TG for Volvos...not a scratch or dent on the thing...

Poor thing felt awful watching me walk around in a Therma Care patch but it did help the neck pain quite a bit.

Monday's my set day to call a friend in Fla, also want to water my plants today.

    Hugs all,

    Nancy B

Nancy! I am so proud that someone know's the current month and days! LOL Thank you for posting! Take care of your neck and take it easy!

DH left for LA this morning. He's stuck here and his flight is late due to thunderstorms here and Detroit where he catches a 'real jet'...not the commuters we use! LOL

I will be leaving Sunday to join him there. He has meetings till the following Thursday. My very best friend of 37 years, lives in the 'burbs' and will be able to take some time off so I can stay with her for several days.

My uncle died yesterday morning. I feel relieved for him, but so very sad for my cousin and his family. I hope today to find out when the funeral is, etc.

Sue.. God love you sweeite. I am praying you find some relief. I understand what you are going through..

Ellen, welcome back to school! I hope this is a good year!

AnneTheresa.. have a good time at the Falls. I saw the American side when I was in 6 grade. Geez, after all those years, I'm surprised they are still running! LOL

Everyone else, I hope you have the best day possible!

Well, it's Monday. The start of my first full week of work.

Linda: Have your mother watch to see if she starts eating more than normal. If she does, it will probably be the Lyrica doing that. Sorry you are having plumbing problems. I hope it doesn't end up costing you a bundle. The will be here part of this week registering for classes and getting settled into their residence halls. All of the students will be here this weekend, and then look out, next week is the start of classes! Next week will be a craze one and I know I will be really wiped out. If my job was liked that all the time, I know I wouldn't be able to work. It really takes a lot out of me.

We are having really yucky weather here. Cold and rainy the past couple of days. They are talking about rain off and on all week. It's been a pretty rainy month for August.

    To-do list:

-stop at our local theatre and get tickets for a play next month (it's a comedy that sounded really good)
-finish doing two loads of laundry
    -vacuum carpet in basement
    -mend a blouse
-BLT's for dinner (the tomatoes are really coming ripening

You and I must have posted at the same time. I am so sorry for your uncle, but it must be a relief that he is no longer suffering. My prayers go out to you and your family.

Take care of your neck and I'm glad your car wasn't damaged. I meant to say that in my original post.

Sorry about your uncle, Kim. How hard for his family. How hard for you.

We are on....tuh duh!....vacation. Parked in a lovely RV park an hour south from our home. Just didn't want to travel...just wanted to rest.

Jim is on a bike ride now, and I am about to get dressed and pick up a bit here. Felix ia just hanging out. We went outside for a bit today. He rolled in the grass, watched the birds, and ran back into the 5th wheel when a golf cart went by...he really is a little fraidy cat.

Have a good week, friends. I may be albe to check in as there is free wi-fi here. Nice.

Wish you all a relaxing time wherever you are.

    Hello everyone.

Nancy, I hope your neck heals well and completely. I've heard it said that in 90% of injuries, ice is the most effective treatment. I sometimes treat localized pain by alternating heat and cold for ten minute intervals. This works well for me. I hope your neck heals well and completely. God bless.

Linda, I hope your plumbing issues are not too extensive or expensive. The last time I had a plumber in, he fixed the leak but left me with a big hole in the wall and two holes in the bathroom ceiling. What a mess! Hopefully, your plumbing issue will not require such drastic measures.

Thanks for your well-wishes on my upcoming trip to Niagara Falls. I'm looking forward to spending the weekend with my sons in such a lovely setting. We're fortunate to live close to Niagara Falls and so we visit frequently. Still, it's magnificant every time we go.

Kim, I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. I understand the sense of relief when a loved-one's suffering comes to an end. May he rest in peace. How nice that your upcoming trip will include a visit with your best friend. I wish you the best and hope you're feeling at your best for the trip.

Ellen, Going back to work after a summer's respite, must be a lot for you to adjust to. I'm glad you like your job and the people you work with, otherwise the transition to work would be a true shock to the system. What's best is that you have daily internet access now and are more easily able to pop-in and participate.

Sue, I hope you're having a great vacation. I just love RV's and the freedom they provide. I wish you much fun and a restful time of it.

    All is well here.

We had nice weather for Sweetie's family reunion on Saturday so we were able to have the pot-luck & BBQ outside. It was good to see everyone (his family is super-kind) in a most picturesque, lake-side corner of the province. However, including travel time, it was a twelve-hour event and therefor far too much for me. I had to cancel plans for Sunday (local garden tour) and today (weight-watcher's meeting) to recuperate. Par for the course, unfortunately.

All I've done today - aside from resting & watching TV - is start some soup in the crock-pot. This will give us a healthy meal, much-needed after too many dessert squares on Saturday and a pizza home-delivered (too tired to cook) on Sunday.

    Today's to-do list

    finish making soup
listen to phone messages, return calls
    empty waste baskets
watch TV - Dr. Who is on tonight :)
    shower & shampoo

    God bless,
    Anne Theresa

How is your neck this Monday? It has to hurt - what helps you?

    Monday I did:

*2 loads of laundry with 3 loads in the dryer. It always seems to be that way with perma-press.

*Try to get out for coffee between storms.

*Aimed to get back on here sooner. I had sooo much as this was down for abiout ten days. After all the testing the support Tech guy did, it turned out be be a brokend phone line at the front end of the house.

I will take tomorrow as it comes. we did need the rain so bad but I have always said "i wish it would just rain at night!"

Oh, I remember what we are doing Tues. We both get haircuts!! I am beginning to look just like a witch! We go to a friend in another town and she has been busy with her daughter who had complications from arthoscopic gall bladder surgery!

So long and I hope you all get your chores done!!

You ladies are wonderful, what a great way to start my day!

My neck is doing fine, so much better. And Anne Theresa, you're right, I should have put ice on it, but I forgot!! When I'm in pain, I reach for my Therma Care pads and it did help me keep my neck still so that really helped.

Thank you all for the well-wishes...

Kim, didn't the dates look shocking this week? August almost over already!
And I too, am so sorry about your Uncle. My best to you and your family at this difficult time.

Not sure what I'll be doing today...they started framing out my patio/decks yesterday so although it was very noisy, at least it was at my house! Drove my dog nuts and me as well with her barking, but hopefully all will be done soon.

I need to clean out the space under my son's bed (just a twin we keep for his visits) so I can better use the space for things that will no longer be in storage due to the mold issues. Decided not to do this today with my neck still being iffy.

Since we finally realized our daughter is married now and won't be moving back home at any given time, it's time for us to finally finish and get things how we like them and where we like them too, so some reorganization is in my future.

One of these days I need to go through my drawers and redo all of them. With moving, we just put things away and now it's time to finalize and organize again.

I think we held back finishing up because we both thought she'd move back in at some point....now she's happily married and doing well, thank God.

Oh and I did sew a pair of jammy pants for my niece yesterday and have plans to do another one if I can stand the noise today. My sewing room is right next to one area that's getting a deck built.

    Hugs to you all...

I had a nice sleep-in this morning because I didn't sleep well last night. I take getting my eight hours seriously, even if I have to sleep at odd hours in order to attain this ideal.

    To-Do List

I'm still working on the soup I started yesterday. I had the crock-pot set, mistakenly, at low and so the veggies were still uncooked at bedtime. I threw the unmade soup into the fridge for the night and now it's back in the pot, bubbling away, almost cooked and waiting for my attention.

My son will be returning from his school work-placement on Thursday and then he'll likely have a few days to spend with us before he heads back to university. To that end, I need to clean the guest rooms, dust, clean sheets & towels, vacuum, etc,

Additionally, I need to make up 2-weeks worth of pill dispensers, take a shower/shampoo, dress and then go to the mall with my friend.

My (dear) friend makes these weekly outings to the mall easy on me. She picks me up at my door and lifts my walker into the trunk of her car. She is super-sensitive to fibromyalgia. She can read my pain & fatigue levels and, quite frequently, she knows before I do that I'm about to crash and need to go home.

I wish for everyone a friend like this and I doubly wish a friend of this caliber for people with fibromyalgia.

    God bless,
    Anne Theresa

Yesterday the Internet was down all day at work, which meant, of course, that I was unable to talk to all of you ladies. But fortunately today it's back up and I am able to check in with all of you.

Anne Theresa: Yes, I do love my job, but it has been hard making the transition from being off to working again. I have found that my energy levels have really been low and my brain fog has been worse (not good for working!), but it's getting better. Sorry you were not able to do all the things you wanted to over the weekend, but at least you were able to make the family reunion. I never knew where in Canada you live. I don't live too far from Niagara Falls either. I live in the southeast corner of Michigan. Hope your trip goes well.

Sue: So you are RV'ing with Felix? That sounds so cute! I had to laugh at him running and hiding from the golf cart! Enjoy your relaxation time!

Nancy: At least the noise is at your place now and you are getting a patio. This is payback for all the noise you had to put up with from your neighbors!

    To-do list:

    -read and relax

I did quite a bit the past couple of days so my list is short today. Even my grocery shopping list is a shorter one.

Take care, everyone. Talk to you tomorrow!

    Hello all,

Please take note of my post on the worship board. I'd be most grateful if you could add your prayers for the recovery and welfare of my son, Steven. Thanks.

Ellen, I'm happy to know we're neighbours. From what I've experienced of Michigan, it's a beautiful state and much like Ontario. Of course, given the proximity, our basic terrain and weather patterns are similar, though I'm sure there are differences, as well. We're fortunate to live in such a nice part of the world.

    To-Do List

I have a bit of picking up to do but for the most part, the house is clean & tidy. The guest rooms still needs some work (the rooms haven't been used for a while and have become a bit of a storage and clutter depot, not to mention a play area for the bunny) but this involves shifting some furniture etc. so I'll need to wait for sweetie to help.

Muffins: I have a bag of Quakers bran muffin mix that I intend to embellish with raisins & apples. As long as I can keep myself from eating too many, this will make for a healthy snack.

Book hotels, etc: Having sorted out everyone's schedule, I'm going to book our family weekend for this time next month. This involves an act of faith, trusting that Steve will be well enough and feel able to get-together.

Washroom: I need to clean and organize my cabinets and shelves. As well, the toilet, sink & tub need a swipe.

Read: I've started reading a new novel and I'd like to spend some time with it today. I haven't read for a couple of weeks (fibro-fog) so I'd like to take advantage of my improved focus and relative clear-headedness.

Water plants: I'll water my indoor & outdoor plants, then call it a day.

    God bless,
    Anne Theresa

    Anne Theresa,

I'm so sorry about your son's accident. How quickly life can change in an instant. Warm thoughts and wishes going out your way...

Today is another down day for me. Not feeling well enough to even plan to do much.

I'll gather trash together, maybe water plants and hopefully get a nap later today.

    Hugs all,

This has certainly not been a good time for some of the people of our "little group" on this post. Between Kim's friend with cancer and her uncle dying, Nancy's car accident, and now Anne Theresa's son's accident, I really feel for all of you. If I've left anyone out, my apologies. I pray that things improve for all of you soon and you don't have too bad of a flare-up because of everthing happening in all of your lives. My thoughts and prayers go out to each and everyone of you.

Well, we are back to another rainy day again. Lots of thunder and big bolts of lightening as I was driving in to work this morning.

    To-do list:

    -my usual pool therapy class
    -vacuum kitchen and bathroom
-TV dinners tonight (cook's night off!)

    Take care everyone.

Well, my plans ended up changing yesterday afternoon. My husband ended up having the afternoon off. My sister-in-law and her boyfriend have rented a cottage at a nearby lake for the week and he called me from work to say he was sitting by the lake enjoying the view. That was enough for me to cancel all my previous plans and join everyone at the lake!

We went for a boat ride, my sister-in-law had a nice meal for us, and we went for a swim, although the water has cooled down some after all the rain we've had the past week.

It's been busier here at work today so I shouldn't be on here too long. Everyone is trying to get ready for classes on Monday.

    To-do list:

-buy chrysanthemum plants for my flower gardens
    -get gas on way home
    -change sheets and wash bedding

    To-do list for weekend:

    -pick vegetables from garden
    -vacuum out car
    -cash husband's check
    -pay bills
    -call one of my girlfriends

With next week being such a busy one at work for me, I may not have time to get on here every day. Take care everyone and have a good weekend!

Linda- we decided against Disneyland....too costly and we need some fences. built. The neighbors cows have been getting in our yard, or I should say, our field. We live a bit out of town, so we are suburban farmers. But I don't really want the cows coming over....pretty soon they would find my garden!

Last weekend we all took a trip to Victoria, B.C. It was a 90 minute ferry ride from Port Angeles and a lovely trip. We saw a rowing competition, street performers, a wax museum and lots of shops. The kids liked to spend Canadian money- it didn't seem real to them. It was a beautiful trip.

Our 20 year old son, who has had chronic fatigue, was able to get up early in the morning, and he seems pretty much recovered from his two year ordeal with CFS. He watches out for MSG, which can bring him down, but it also affects my husband. So that is a huge blessing!

    Have a good weekend, everyone!

    Hello friends,

I'll probably get out for a walk but, beyond that, I'll be home and indoors all day. It's a perfect day to catch up with my reading and that's my primary intention for today. However, all that sitting (to read) can make me feel stiff & sore so I'll get up at regular intervals to do the following:

    - empty wastebaskets
    - menu-planning & grocery list
    - clean inside of fridge
    - dust living room
    - water outdoor plants (no rain in sight)
    - make individual jello and fruit cups
    - make perogies for dinner

A quiet day of reading alongside a bit of housework, that makes for a good day.

    God bless,
    Anne Theresa

    Update re: Steve's accident
    - copied from the Worship Board

Thank-you for your prayers with regard to my son, Steve. I spoke on the phone with him this morning and so I have a brief update to share with you:

The doctor prescribed dilaudid so he's getting some relief from pain. Still, he said, he finds the pain to be exhausting and he's not getting around very well.

His spirits seem a bit low (perhaps the exhaustion is contributing to this), yet he's maintained his uniquely positive outlook and he's most grateful to have survived the accident.

He went the specialist yesterday and the specialist said the eye may heal itself though he (the specialist) will know better when he sees Steve again on Monday.

So far, no indication for surgery. I hope the prognosis holds and that God willing, Steve will experience a full recovery.

His work/placement is finished now (he was injured on his last day of work) and he's (more than) ready to come home. The doctor told him not to fly (re: ocular pressure)so he'll take the train when he feels more able. It's a 30-hour trip so I expect it will be a challenging journey for him.

I'll be glad to have him home but, in the meantime, his roommates are wonderful, he said, keeping him fed, helping him get around the house, running his errands etc.

As for me, I'm okay - a little tired from stress & worry, but for the most part, I've handed it over to God.

    Thanks for your prayers.

i have spent parts of the past 3 days watching the Weather Channel.Chicago was devastated day before yesterday with rain, wind, downpours, etc. I watched as our county came on for tornado warning but thank the good Lord it went away from us.

it is still threatening here so I have TV on here.

What have I done? That is a good question. I have read the Reader's Digest, (not too great this month), read the 2 daily papers and ran the dishwashwer.

I got the dress out that I am wearning to our grandson's wedding so i could check jewelry that I might wear with it. The dress was a gift from my dear DIL (the groom's mom). Purse to match too. Well, Maggie, our cat thought that I was rerady to take a nap. I put the dress away and laid down with her. no nap for either of us.

I feel as if I lost the whole day!!!!!!!!!!!! ever feel that way?????

Good luck to all of you that you accomplihed more than i did.
