I didn't see our to-do list so decided I would get it started this week.

It's been a busy morning at work. I leave in less than an hour. We had a nice weekend, but as usual, it went by way too fast. On Saturday we got some yardwork done and then did some burning in our garden. It was sunny and in the 50's-pretty nice for November. We had lunch out and it gave us a chance to relax and talk.

On Sunday we had breakfast out and then we went to the mall! I haven't been there in probably six months. I can't go there without my scooter, which requires my husband. I planned on just buying some underwear, but also bought a couple of blouses on sale. I don't buy clothes too often so it felt good to splurge a little.

Anne Theresa: That's terrible about your grandfather and your mother's reaction to it. At least with Nancy and me, the person was related to us.

Terri: Have you ever tried Gabitril for restless legs? It shouldn't make you so sleepy. That must have been interesting seeing the Spruce Goose. My husband especially would love to see that.

Nancy: I can't believe your family is still seeing that same dentist after your experience with him! What's wrong with them? It's like they are downplaying or not believing what happened to you! I am so sorry.

    To-do list:

-take out screens and store them away for the winter (we
have the easy kind that you can take out from the inside)
    -dust the basement
    -do some reading
    -leftovers for dinner

Thanks for starting this, I wasn't sure if I should start it or not this week.

I've had a really busy day today and I'm still surprised that I got so much done.

It was my daughter's first day in her new German language class and she had asked if I'd take her. So....

I took her to a nearby base, stopped at the shoppette, atm, class, then I ran an errand in the same building that I've been putting off for months.

Went to the other base to get my daughter's meds for her, then got my flu shot. By that time she was calling me, the teacher was sick so she wanted me to pick her up.

So...went back to the other base, shopped a bit, had lunch out with her (still have to eat every 2 hours so I don't fall over) then thankfully came home.

I even managed to put a roast in for dinner for the 4 of us.

Now I'm pooped!!! I'm just about ready for bed and it's not even 7:00 in the evening.

    Hugs all,

Hello all, I had a very lazy weekend, stayed in my p.j.'s and watched cartoons. (Sweetie bought me a 3-DVD set of Popeye the Sailor as an anniversary gift and so I'm re-living my childhood, enjoying it immensely.) Today I feel sluggish and slow, hesitant to get up and going - lazy weekends make Monday mornings all the more difficult.

    To-Do List

    - make phone calls to reschedule missed appointments
    - e-mail & on-line banking
    - vacuum hallway
    - empty wastebaskets
    - dust bookshelves & desk
    - shower & shampoo
    - weight-watchers (yikes! I gained several lbs. this week)
    - begin knitting project, maybe

Throughout this week, I'm going to work bit-by-bit toward cleaning the basement rooms, washing the kitchen walls and cleaning/organizing cupboards and storage baskets.

My house looks so dull & dingy, because I'm usually only able to do a surface clean, rather than a more thorough job. I'm considering having a cleaner come in once or twice a month to give me a hand. I'll make some initial inquiries this week, talk it over with sweetie and see if I can work a housekeeper into the budget. It would be a great help as I'm sure you, Nancy, can attest.

    God bless,
    Anne Theresa

    Good Morning all....

I'm not sure what I'll get done today but my to do list is short and sweet.

After a day like yesterday, I'll just take the day and see what happens. I might sew, might just sit and watch tv and I might get some laundry done if the day goes well.

Linda, not sure where the energy to get all that done came from, but I'm just glad it was there on a day when I needed it.

I did take an Excedrin for Migraine in the morning and that can help too. Gives me a few hours of a gentle caffeine boost without the immediate drop that coffee causes afterwards.

Anne Theresa, the best part of having a housekeeper come in twice a month is the stress relief it brings knowing I don't have to get the house cleaned myself. It still gets dirty in between so it's not like I don't have to do a little bit to keep it up, but the house isn't waiting for me to feel well enough to clean it.

This also allows me to use my energy on things I 'want' to do instead of things I 'have' to do. Big help...

    Hugs all,

    Hi, Girls:

Nancy: I didn't mind starting the post this week. It got to be late morning, and when I didn't see it, I decided to get it going. I see that your daughter is taking a German language class. Do you know any German? I picked up a few words when I was in Austria, but I would think it would be a hard language to learn.

Anne Theresa: Sorry for the weight gain, but you will have to tell them at Weight Watchers that you were celebrating your anniversary! I guess the important thing is to get back on the wagon again. I'm with you on getting a housekeeper. I would love one, too, but there is no way we could afford one. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have one to at least do the bigger jobs like washing windows.

Linda: I didn't know you grew up in Ohio. So you know what it's like to have changing seasons and winter. Wauseon isn't too far from Toledo. Thanks for the encouragement for the root canal. It isn't definite that I have to have one, but I would be surprised if I don't. My appt. isn't until the 14th. I'm going to a specialist and he's only in town on Wednesdays. I will be glad to get this tooth taken care of after all this time. Anything cold bothers it and lately if I chew too hard.

    To-do list:

-lunch with a co-worker and several retirees from work
    -water therapy class
    -vacuum carpet upstairs
    -empty wastebaskets
    -eggs and toast for dinner

    Take care, everyone! Back tomorrow!

    Hi everyone,
I went with my hubby to the doc this morning- he lucked out on having to take BP medication- the doc said to lose weight or else! It's his birthday today, so I doubt we'll be on a strict diet today....but we will tomorrow! He said we would go out for Mexican food tonight. Fine with me!
Ellen, I've never heard of Gabitril, but I'll look into it. Sometimes it would be nice to be awake on car trips (and not in misery!).
I have some more birthday stuff to get ready and pick up the house, so I'll check in tomorrow!
    Take care!

    Hello all,

I'm still a bit tired from my big day on Monday, but so far, I haven't had any problems from getting my flu shot.

Today I have a doc appt scheduled and I'm hoping to stop in and pick up a few groceries afterwards.

But everything depends on my daughter. She's not doing well again and has asked her husband if he can stay home with her today. She's afraid to be alone. (not a good sign)

He's already taken tomorrow off to take her back to the doc in Heidelberg so I'm not sure if he can. If not, I want her to spend the day with me.

Luckily again, it's a long weekend so she won't be alone for the next few days.

I'm almost tempted to have them ask for her to be put back on the Seroquel again maybe with something to counteract the weight gain. She's already become hypothyroid from it but at least this medication worked and gave her back her life for a time.

Anyway...that's all that's on my list for today.

Hubby has to leave tonight for a day or so, he'll be coming home this afternoon to pack for his trip.

    Hugs and good health all,

    Nancy B

I had fun at the luncheon yesterday. We are going to try to get together every month. I seem to be the one who does the planning for it. I stayed so long that I didn't get much done on my to-do list, but that's okay. Friends are more important sometimes than running the vacuum.

Terri: It just dawned on me that when I was on Gabitril I took it in the evening so maybe it does cause sleepiness. I am on Topamax now for the restless legs, which I take twice a day. It does cause some sleepiness, although I had that before. One thing I like about it is that it causes loss of appetite. Too bad your husband needs to lose weight, but he does have to watch his blood pressure.

Linda: I've gone to the Toledo Zoo since I was a child. My husband and I have gone there the past several years at Christmas when they have it decorated with lights. It is so pretty and makes for a nice evening. 90 degrees? I'll bet you are getting sick of it! It is much cooler here. We've been having nights in the 30's and daytime temps in the low 50's or upper 40's. Winter's coming.

Nancy: I'm sorry your daughter is not doing as well. Maybe they should put her back on the Seroquel and put her on a large dose of Topamax. That's what Jim is on. He has his dr. appt. today and they will weigh him. Hopefully the 200 mg. of Topamax has stopped the weight gain. I've noticed lately his appetite is not what it was so I think the Topamax is working. I'll let you know.

Hannah: What a cute picture of you and your dogs! I see you have a kitty, too. I'm an animal lover, too-three cats. We don't have any kids, so my cats are my children. I spoil them rotten. They are such a comfort to have around, especially on my bad days. I'm glad you are still able to do pet sitting.

Okay, on to my to-do list:

    -go to Jim's dr. appt.
-easy dinner (not sure what, but something easy)

Well, I had better get back to work. See you all tomorrow!

We didn't get home until Monday afternoon, and both of us had a bug of some kind. I was in bed all Monday afternoon and yesterday and going there today.

We bought a new 5th wheel while away so now we must sell our old one. I spent a couple hours getting ads put in the papers around here. Whoever buys this will get a good deal. My DH takes very good care of things. I'm hoping for a young family who wants a start in Rving.

Got a prescription, did a few little house chores, now...to bed.

Hope those of you who have overdone it can rest today. My husband and I have been on a treadmill for the last 4 years what with the house plans and the illnesses and deaths of three of our parents...

But, things look like we may be able to stay put here in a bit. Just have lots to do before that happens.

Take care, each one. You all brighten my day.

I'm so glad my daughter came in yesterday and went to the doc with me. She has strep and bronchitis and is now on meds for it. That'll help a bit...

Since she's going to Heidelberg with her husband, I have the day 'off' today and won't need to be glued to the phone and computer.

Let's hope they find a med for her that'll work with all of her symptoms but doesn't cause too many side effects.

So I'll probably try to finish my laundry today.

I've also got a bit of a cold, seems to be a bug going around here (hubby's got it too) so some rest may also be included in my day.

I hope you all are doing well and can have a peaceful and pain free day today.

One of the twins has started tenor sax for his jazz band......boy, it makes a noise! He tries to look like a real jazzer when he's playing, but he doesn't have the fingerings down yet, so he doesn't really know what he's doing!

Today is a busy day for me- lots of accompanying to do. We had someone over for dinner last night, so the house looks better than usual! I had the kids pitch in and help. I'll be glad when things can slow down a bit....

Dinner will be leftovers for sure, so at least I won't have to cook!

Sounds like most everyone on here is sick with either a cold or a flare-up (not me-knock on wood). I'm sure the weather changes aren't helping and everyone is always so busy.

Linda: I hope your son doesn't have CFS, but, of course, there's always the risk of passing CFS and FMS down to the next generation. I've often wondered if my husband and I had had children if one of them would have inherited my CFS,FMS or endometriosis.

Nancy: Jim's dr. appt. went well except he's still gaining weight. Not as much, but still he gained four pounds in a month. He was on 200 mg. of Topamax and his dr. upped it to 300 mg. I asked her how high she could go and she said 400 mg. Hopefully this will do the trick.

Sue: I know what you mean about being on a treadmill. The first few years of my marriage, my husband and I felt that we were on a treadmill and we couldn't get off! Both of my parents died, I was diagnosed with several illnesses, had several surgeries, had major problems with my family, etc. I am so thankful it's been an even keel for awhile now. It's definitely made a positive difference in my health.

    To-do list:

-grocery shopping (a smaller list today, thank goodness!)
    -pool therapy class
    -finish washing load of laundry

Hubby still isn't home yet but should be home by tonight.

Got a surprise last night, my daughter called and her husband had to go into work last night, so they spent the night here with me. (Too much driving after her appt to go back home at night)

They didn't change her meds yesterday, just upped the dosage on the Risperadone and Prozac, hope it helps and soon.

So for today, I'd like to sew some jammies, I spent part of yesterday cutting patterns.

Still have a bit of a cold so I won't be doing too much.

Ellen, I hope Jim continues to do well on the Seroquel and Topamax. Sounds like the combination is working for him and I know how hard it is to find the right meds.

    Hugs all,

    Nancy B

Well, another week has zoomed by. Today I am going to pick up Jim and take him home with me. He will have dinner with us, then my husband will take him home in the evening. He doesn't know this yet, so it will be a nice surprise for him. I have to wait until the last minute for these things to make sure I am up for it.

I hope some of our missing ladies come back soon and for those of you who are in a flare-up or other illness-I hope you feel better soon!

Nancy: Jim has been on Risperadole and Prozac in the past, but they didn't really help him as much as the Seroquel has. Sounds like they aren't helping your daughter as much either. Of course everyone is different and maybe upping the dosage will do something. I know she is a constant worry for you and your husband. Jim isn't even my child, but he is on my mind all the time, too. Although now that he is doing well, at least I am not worrying about him so much.

    To-do list for Friday:

    -cash husband's check
    -pick up Jim
    -tacos for dinner
-finish washing sheets and make bed
    -fold a load of laundry

    To-do list for weekend:

-shorten bathing suit top (it's a two-piece and the top
    is too long-I'm short waisted)
-call my brother Tom (he hurt his shoulder-he how he's
-call my cousin in New Jersey
-cut down the rest of my flowers in garden
    -dust upstairs
    -clean mirrors

Have a good weekend, everyone! See you Monday!

    Hi folks.

I've been off-line for most of the week, catching up with missed appointments & shopping.

Lots of family stuff too: (another) new niece from China to welcome, a favourite aunt is recovering from a heart attack and sadly, my brother left his wife and children to move in with a girlfriend. My brother's leaving was a surprise to everyone, especially his children.

I've been busy 'being there' for my brother's eldest daughter who has been most upset. On Sunday, I'll be visiting with her as well as two of her sisters (each having indicated they want/need to spend time with me now).

It will be good to see the girls, hear their concerns and help them through this, but I hope it won't be too strenuous for me mentally or physically.

Thankfully, I have a free day on Saturday, so I can get some pre-emptive rest before seeing my nieces on Sunday.

    To-Do List

I've finished my daily chores for today
go to the lab for a blood test
    water the plants
    make muffins
paper filing (I've been procrastinating with this)
    read/return e-mails & listen/respond to phone messages
    sort laundry
    clean fish bowl

    Enjoy the weekend!

    God bless,
    Anne Theresa

Hubby and I have agreed to do a little Christmas decorating since the Europeans don't celebrate Thanksgiving, it's a way to sneak in a few more weeks of Christmas. Just a little bit....

We also need to finish up our laundry....

He's home but sick with a cold and mine is doing pretty well. I take a half dose of Nyquil when someone around me is sick so I almost never get full cold symptoms, just have a heavy head and cough.

I'm hoping to go to the commissary tomorrow and do a large grocery shopping trip while he's with me. It's time to stock up on staples for the winter so if I don't feel like shopping or if the weather is bad, I won't have to.

Anne Theresa, what a week. Blessings on the new addition to the family and I hope things go well for you with your brother's kids.

    Hugs and good health all,

But we picked apples yesterday! I actually had used up most of ours in juice and apple pie filling, so I found out about an orchard of cameos going to waste. The boys, hubby and I went yesterday and it was sooooo full of apples! We had to walk on apples to get to them, they were dropping as we picked. So we got three boxes in about 15 minutes......now I get to figure out what to do with them!

Linda- I'll ride my stationary bike with you.......

Nancy- I hope your daughter is doing better. It's a lot of worry on your shoulders, but as moms, we always go where we are needed.

Well, the weekend is almost over, so I'll see you next week!
