At what stage is it best to get a lawyer, for reconideration, or the hearing?

I just got declined today, they didn't even take into consideration my stuff from FFC.

Also, how did you find a good one?

At first, I thought it would be a waste if I was approved right away. Of course, that didn't happen anyway. They can only take a fee from your back pay anyway.

I actually got mine from the yellow pages. I just made sure he only did disability. You figure that they have to be pretty good if that is the only way they make a living.

It paid off. If I wouldn't have had a lawyer, I would still be waiting. I was approved last week without having to go to the hearing!!

You might phone Legal Aid in your community and see if
they have a list of SS attorneys they can recommend.
I represented myself before an ALJ but I don't suggest
you do what I did. I'd pursue the possibility of acquiring
a lawyer as soon as poss. One may not what to take your
case until after a 2nd denial.

You might want to see: socialsecuritydisabilitysecrets.com

Soc Sec. will also direct you to a list of Attorneys if you are comfortable with that route. I think they are ob-
jective and really don't favor SSA.
    Keep in touch,
