I started my high dose of B-12 Tues Nov 1
I started off 1000 micrograms weekly
Increasing 1000 micrograms more each week until the maximum dose of 2000 micrograms twice weekly for a total of 4000
Plus B complex and folic acid taking orally daily

My B-12 levels in my blood was normal before starting the injections. My specialist said that 30% percent of FM/CFS patients have huge improvements with this treatment.

How many people have tried it?
    Did it work?

I tried them too and they did not work for me - but as stated above, every one reacts differently and the only way you will know if they can help you is if you try them. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I take 1ml once a month. I don't know if its helping to be honest. I've only given myself the shot once with a friends help.

But it was not as often as your getting them. I thought I felt a difference.

Problem was my husband had to give the shot to me and it hurt like heck!!

From what I read you need to take at least 4ml a week to really work. The nurse used a really small syringe like the ones for insulin and it didn't hurt bit.

I'm really looking forward to getting up to 4ml a week. I didn't ever think I would ever look forward to getting a needle. LOL

    I sure hope it works

but I'm only getting 1ml per week. (UK)

I'm going to ask doctor in a few months if he'll up dose.

Let me know how you get on as you up your doses, please, I'm interested in finding out.

    love

rosiebud I will let you know if it works. The specialist said if it's going to work me I should notice a difference by the time I get to 4ml a week. But I read else where to allow 6 weeks for the B-12 to build up in your system.

I will give this a fair chance to work, if not I will try something else. I have things I want to in life and this DD is really getting in the way. LOL

I take 1ml of cyancobalamin (sp?) every other day and have been on this regimen for a couple of months. It seems to be helping, although it's hard to say exactly what the benfits are. If pushed, I would say it has contributed to a sense of improved well-being.

I have seen some discussion about the various merits of different types of B12....I seem to recall that some docs favour a different kind from the one I'm on.

As regards the injections: I use a very small needle and jab myself in the fatty part of the stomach. The only painful part about it is the anticipation ...

    Cheers
