Who takes acetylcarnitine does it help?

    i would like to know if anyone takes this or just carnitine and does it help? i saw a big article on it for fibromyalgia. Did not know if it was hype or it really helped.

    I take acetyl l-carnitine 500 mg two or three times a day, and about the same time I also started taking alpha lipoic acid (600 mg once a day) and d-ribose (5 grams three times a day). This was no quick fix but over time I've noticed a lot of improvement, especially in energy level and muscle pain/soreness and reduced PEM. I think it was probably the combination that worked, not just one or the other, but I can't say for sure. I take several other supplements too but these, and coQ10, are the ones I think have helped the most.

    I tried to take cq10 and had a flare anything that sent me in to a flare anything with to much revs me up to much sends me into a flare what is ribose? Do you take just plain carnitine?

    What is reduced pm or something? you see i need the cq10 for brain.
