    Hi Spudzy,
I am working 4 days a week also and it is hard. Obviously, sounds like you haven't been given adequate pain meds. Maybe time to try a pain specialist? I am working on getting in to see one myself. Some days I can't get through without Vicodin. Gentle stretches in the AM sometimes help. Have you tried massage? It really has helped me.
Just wanted to say hi and let you know you're not alone.
Hope you are feeling better soon,
    Kristi :)

Spudzy, I'm sorry no one has answered you yet. Granted, if you're waiting IN PAIN, it might seem intolerable!

I assume people are reading your posts, just that no one has an answer for you. It's possible the people who might know don't get online 'til the evening.

I have CFS, not FMS, so I really have no clue about pain meds. Have you seen/called your doctor about it? If they won't prescribe something for you, I do know you should see a pain management specialist.

I think if you get the pain under control you might be able to handle working the next two years. But if your body starts telling you to stop you might need to listen. I wouldn't worry about disability until you're possibly closer to needing it.... It's a lot of info that hopefully you won't need!

    Good luck!

Hello! I noticed in june you questioned anxiety issues. Have those been treated? Much of our pain is brought on from within due to malresponses.Due you have Sinus pressure/build-up in back of head pain? Have you tried any head rotations or simple stretching for neck and shoulders?I use all mentioned to help w/pain,it does not go away, but becomes tollerable.Blessing and Peace,ez

Spudzy, so sorry no one replied to you, I just got on the board myself.

Alright, I am one of the FM people who can't take meds either (except for .25 mgs of Xanax once a day only).

First off, do you drink water? If not you need to drink half your body weight in OUNCES of water a day, along with a quarter teaspoon of Sea Salt throughout the day, any kind will do for now.

Second you need to get started on Magnesium and Malic acid, this is a must too. It can be bought here at ProHealth, just go to the "Store" link at the top of this page and read about it/or order, its called; Pro Energy .

Are you having problems sleeping? If so then you need to start taking ZMA (zinc, magnesium and vitamin B-6), wonderful for deep sleep, pain, spasms, and the fogginess. Its also sold here, but if you buy it at a health food store, be SURE you get the SNAC brand only, the others do not work. Pro Health now sells this brand for us its been so good for FM that they now carry it.

Another thing is a featherbed or a Cuddle Ewe for you to sleep on, you need a firm mattress, but a softness to sleep on.

I also use a mattress heating pad, wonderful for the pain too.

Heres my bath for quick help for that pain:

    3 bottles of peroxide (large)
    3 cups of Epson Salts

Put in water as warm as you can stand, soak for 20 minutes only. When you get out of the tub, go to bed. This bath makes you feel weak, but it will help the pain, and you will get a goodnights sleep too. Its not a cure, but it sure helps (epson salts is magnesium, it goes into the pores in the bath which gives almost instant relief of the sore muscles), peroxide is refreshing, and also kills bacteria.

This is all for now, give some of this a try, and let me know how you are feeling.

These are then things I do for relief, they work for me and a lot of others here who can't take meds.

The only pain pill I can take is OTC Advil gel caps, but only for a couple of days as they will kill my stomach, I also have IBS.

I sure hope you are feeling better soon, and I again apologize for you not getting any response sooner.

Please feel free to ask any questions you have, I will watch for your name, and I am sure others will respond too.

    Shalom, Shirl

I didn't see your other post(s). This board moves very rapidly and sometimes, things get lost on Page 2 or 3 before they can be answered.

No one here can really help you with your pain because what works for one of us doesn't always work for another. You really need to see a pain specialist who understands yur kind of pain and is willing to work with you.

Find a good doc in your area and get in to see him or her as soon as possible. There is no need to suffer like this. Good luck to you.

    Love, Mikie
