Today I had to see my Dr. for multiple complaints and asked for Mirapex for my fibromyalgia and restless leg syndrome. Had I not mentioned my restless legs I would not have gotten it. She was not aware that it is being used for fibro and of course I forgot all my papers on the latest research but told her about them instead. She has me on .125 mg 3x/day. Will I feel any relief?

I take 2 Mirapex about an hour b-4 bed for RLS. It helps a great deal. If I forget to take it, I wake up after an hour or so with severe leg twitches. Good luck wth the new doc!!

I take Mirapex at bedtime only, .25 mg for my FMS. I find it very helpful. It makes me sleep better, greatly improves my energy and motivation the following day and helps a lot with that weak, crappy feeling I often have. Taking it through the day is hard because it can make you quite drowsy. The dose I take is not helpful for pain issues and I understand that for pain relief, a dose many times higher is required, but I have problems tolerating a higher dose. Still, it is well worth it at the lower dose.

    Good luck!

Thanks for answering my question and reading my long email. I'm going to go delete most of it in hopes that I will get more responses.

I'm not tired at all from the Mirapex and I'm actually sleeping worse on it and it hasn't helped my restless legs or perhaps that's not even my problem and it is all stemming from my neck and back. Time will tell.

Hey about a week ago or so I saw my fibro specialist and we went over everything like we do. Well I haven't been sleeping at all..and I mean at all for years...it's taken a toll on me and my body and my pain level. UGH

anyway..I have literally tried all of the sleeping drugs and he thought maybe we can try a dose of Mirapex to see if the dopamine would help. Also I am to take a 1000mg of vitamin C with it. Well I slept pretty good that night and have since. The only thing is that it made me feel really strange during the day for the first few days but it has since stopped.
I have had a sleeping test done and I do not have restless legs.
So evidently something with the dopamine in the drug is helping me. It's amazing how much my pain level has dropped.

What is the dose you are taking and what did he say the vitamin C will do? I have to find a fibro specialist or another pain doc. But I am much too ill right now to do that now.
