I can't move without pain. I've try robaxin, and xanax, heating pad. Nothing is working . My husband doesn't even want to be around me. What can I do to stop it from hurting? I feel like vomiting.

but yesterday I received my Lidoderm patches, used two and now I am painfree. In the past I would have used Ultracet and a muscle relaxant but these are great and don't make you sleepy. Try the other stuff for now and if they don't work call your doctor in the morning.

Been there, done that! Ouch, that is the most pain I have ever been in. Finally had a diagnosis after an MRI of the head and neck of a pinched nerve and arthritis in my neck. Took forever and lots of steroids before I returned to a somwehat normal state. Today I take 10 mg. of Flexeril at bedtime daily and use the lidocaine patches when it first flares up along with heat and I am careful not to make any sudden sharp snaps of my neck in either direction. I have had to change my pillow several times to find one that doesn't give me morning neck and back pain. Find the right pillow and you will think you died and went to heaven when you wake up without pain. Ask your doc. to diagnose the problem with an MRI. I have even had cortisone injections 3 times into the area under floroscopy(x-ray) by a pain management specialist from the Cleveland Clinic. This helped alot! I would encourage you to keep trying things to see what works for you. Don't give up. That which does not kill us, only make us stronger!
    Best Wishes!

My worst areas are my neck and my lower back. It's sounds like you need something much stronger in the pain meds department.

Either a muscle relaxant or stronger pain reliever. I'd get to a Dr or emerg department and see if they can help.

I also take a really hot bath when mine act up as well as alternating heat with cold. Grab a bag of frozen peas, they work really well.

Regards...I hope you feel better soon.

    daylight:
If you can reach a little, see if you can manually massage some of the areas around your neck. Best bet right now: heating pad.

I used to use rubbing alcohol and whether it was psychological or not: it helped.

Some Motrin would not hurt. It will bring down some of the inflamation.

You take care and do not stretch too much and let us know how you are doing.

Like low dose valium may work.

I also just found this really cheap rub in a jar called Skinners Cream. Got at from a little store.

It really feels greta on the neck. It cost about $5.00 for largish jar. It is also for nearly everything.

Tucking your chin in can really help neck pain too.

I am so sorry. I wish I had an answer for you, but I am going through exactly the same thing. My hubby is wonderful and tries to understand, but how can he? No advice, but just know that you are not alone, dear.

Stand under the shower and let the water beat down on your neck and back.
Use water as hot as bearable. After a few minutes
start moving the neck gently as the water beats down.
This helps relax the muscles. Hope this will help some.
    Sorry you are hurting.

I'm going to see an Orthapedic doctor today. Yesterday I couldn't move my neck at all. It's a little better now but the burning pain in still there. Hopefully this doctor will have some answers for me .

This happened to me last Thursday and lasted until Sunday. I used iced for the first 2 days and then switched to heat. Muscle relaxers, valium, percoset, motrin, around the clock. I slept most of the time but when I had to be up and around I put the ice on it. Good luck. I know this hurts like he$#!

I was supposed to be see a back specialist but instead someone messed up and scheduled me to see a back surgeon.

Well at least he was really good looking.lol. Doc. said that I don't have a pinched nerve but he ordered an MRI to check for a possible hemmridge or legament tears.Thats scheduled for Thursday. So i'm going to be drugged up for awhile.
