    Dear FM/CFS Community,
    >I have drafted a petition to bring to light a

    > discrimination for years, the recent article that
    > ran in the NY Times ("Hurting More, Helped Less"
    > 6/23/02) coupled with a report in the Journal of Law,
    > Medicine & Ethics (2001) entitled "The Girl Who Cried Pain: A
    > Bias Against Women in the Treatment of Pain"
    > provided the impetus for me to take this action.
    > After a substantial amount of signatures are
    > gathered, I will take this petition to lawmakers and
    > the media to instigate the attention and policy
    > change this issue so desperately deserves.
