I have already tried many types of meds for fibro pain and sleep issues and am getting almost no pain control or have side effects. I have also tried many "natural" remedy's that haven't helped or have side effects.

Would a Psychopharmacologist be helpful or just costly? Most charge $300+ for initial consultation then $100+ for follow-ups. I haven't found any that take my insurance.

I swear by Trazodone. It helps me get a good nights sleep. It is an older med, but works like a charm for me. Even my doc raves about it.
When I first started taking it I did experience some side effects like dry mouth & grogginess. But I worked on managing them and getting to the right dosage. Most meds have side effects. Eventually my body adapted and the ability to get sleep has been invaluable for me!
Good luck and keep us posted.

A psychopharmacologist is the same as a psychiatrist which is covered by insurance. At least the last time I looked, but things do change. That's a ridiculous charge.

My psychiatrist has been so helpful working with my neurologist and PCP in getting my pain under control.

    Take care.
