Yeast tainted, etc. foods...

    2 interesting articles I ran across today.

    First is about how bribes at food companies allow our processed foods to become tainted with yeast etc - bottom line, make your own whenever possible:

    "...the scheme also involved millions of pounds of tomato products with high levels of mold or other defects, the case has raised serious questions about how well food manufacturers safeguard the quality of their ingredients....

    Often that meant mold counts so high the sale should have been prohibited under federal law; at other times it involved breaching specifications in the sales contracts, such as acidity levels or the age of the product."

    Second story is about the preservatives...

    "Glancing at the two McDonald's Happy Meals pictured here, you may feel they look pretty much identical. Astonishingly, however, this is the same meal, photographed 12 months apart."

    I always wonder how the preservatives/additives affect our bodies. I try to stay away from them as much as possible!
