Heavy lifting helped 06/18/03 04:15 PM

I am new to this board. I have had CFS for about 10 years now. I am partially improved (no more pain or muscle weakness) but I still have the fatigue and other symptoms. The hardest part of the illness for me is the physical/social isolation.

My biggest energy jump in recent times came from the following. My cleaning lady had a heart attack in my apartment, and the 911 people told me I had to move her inert body off the chair she was sitting on and get her laid out on the floor. She was on a chair in a very awkward corner and she was not light! ( I am sorry to tell you that she did not survive). I felt achy and exhausted for the next two days, but on the third day I felt remarkably more energy and the improvement was pretty much permanent. What do you think about this? I wonder now if I should try lifing some weights but I am concered about possibly doing too much and exhausting myself needlesly.
