    Does anyone maybe have an answer as to why every time now I try to watch a youtube video, it says "error has occurred. please try later"?

    This has slowly but surely happened to almost 100% of the videos in the past 2 months.

    I googled it & others have the same problem, but I didn't see a 'fix-it'. I couldn't even watch a video my son loaded up of our pond on the youtube site. It just makes no sense, as every so often I can watch something. I did see a 'fix-it' that worked for a while (I slightly changed the url coding), but that no longer works either.

    (I do know it has nothing to do with being in MX however, as it happens with even Mexican videos. If something does violate the int'l copyright laws, a different message shows up.)

    (I think it's all Google's fault... since this has happened since they took over)

    FYI I'm using Vista with latest version of Mozilla Firefox.

    Thanks guys, for any help you can give me or direct me to. Hopefully it will be understandable, LOL. It's scary that I'm the most computer literate in my family...

    I've been getting that message on Youtube a lot these past few months. I
    have found if I come back an hour or two later, the problem is resolved.

    Yesterday none of the Youtube videos would play. I turned the computer off and
    took a nap. When I came back, they would play.

    I believe all the problems in life are due to:

    a vast, secret conspiracy;
    the current President;
    worbal gloaming;
    emissions from cell phones and microwaves;
    Wall Street bankers;
    and/or Aliens.

    Rock does Gordon have any idea why this is happening?

    Yep, I think you have all the answers to all our life problems,

    the worbal gloaming is especially the worst!

    LOL I wonder if 'Google' will become a word synonymous now
    with 'jinxed' or similar meaning...

    as in,

    Oh no, I've been Googled!

    Hmmm, think I might start that maybe on one of those threads
    if I do post, hehehehe

    computer have an evil sense of humor or what? How come this was the only
    thread on which I could not get a "reply" button this afternoon?

    Looked for Ken Auletta's book at the library, Jean. He seems to have a number of
    books out, all too serial for me to read.

    Haven't heard "I was Googled", Victoria, but at Yahoo on-line bridge people sometimes disappear
    from the table. They return a minute or so later to explain, "I was Yahooed"!

    Tho I think I like 'yahooed' better in place of 'googled'! Sounds funnier.

    Well, I did again what the page Jean gave me said to do -
    I'd done it before but it didn't work at all.

    But, try, try again!?!

    SO - if anyone's having this problem, try this:

    1-Click on "Tools" at the top of your browser,

    2- then click on "Options" at bottom

    3- In "Options" you'll see a tab for "Security" - click on that.

    4- When the box opens, the first line (in Firefox) says,
    "Warn me when sites try to install add-ons" -
    you'll see to the right a button for "Exceptions" - click it.

    5- A box opens up where you'll see some sites like Adobe.
    Add - make sure it is NOT
    (one wonders WHY this makes a difference!?!)

    Then I restarted my computer just to make sure, again.

    So far it is working today. The other day it did not when I did this same exact routine. So maybe they are working on this? (I hope so!)

    Happy viewing to us all, I hope. Somewhere I read that 24 hours of videos are added each minute... wouldn't think they'd want us to stop viewing?

    maybe it means that somehow PH or Rock - or both - somehow get positioned well on google?

    Actually I didn't find the answer on that page, come to think of it, but I did find it at that site - it had much clearer instructions than elsewhere so it made it easier for me to re-do as of course I couldn't really remember how I did it the first time!

    Live and learn, to live and learn another day!

    Thanks Jean!
