Welcome to the new porch....i imagine Jugheads Hot Dog looks like that big dopey looking mutt on the right. How wonderful for that soldier to come back from the battlelines to this.
So nice to see Duckie. thanks for dropping in. So sorry for the loss of your young friend and all 5he troubles with DD and work. Keep your chin up. Grieve, holler, sulk but not for too long at a time. Get the aggro out. and 5hen loin up your girdles and carry on.
Very nice youre going on your retreat. Make sure you leave all the pain the the backside stuff at home andjust concentrate on having a good time.
Granni - ah. the crockpot comes out now that 5he weather is turned a tad chilly. One of the best things about winter. Slurping hot stew/soup. I read about a 5 bean salad and 5hought about you.
Isnt it such a blessing that your DD made a turnaround? Its so sweet of you to share your story and comfort Duckie. I can feel the turmoil you have endured on your DDs account as you write. All the frustration, anxiety a mother goes through. As Mikie says counting our blessings is all we can do in turbulent times and wait it out.
Easy to say, not so easy to practise!
Sun - what an interesting book must be the Violin one. All those diverse stories of different people through the centuries. i was digging through my store of books to find something fictional to read with my tea and looks like i dont have any new ones. i will have to look in 5he bookstores. But 5hey mostly sell bestsellers and i just want a nice cozy slice of life book set not later than 1940s.
But not earlier 5han 17th century. Before 5hat all i can 5hink of is druids, Merlin, and the plague. And the clink of iron blades on armour as armies battle. big hairy men getting high on running blades 5hrough the flesh of other fellowmen. And carrying off the maidens they happen to fancy. Just like 5hat. Shudder. Was the world really like 5hat?
Mikie - my tees would have no outfit is complete with dog hair. Tons of dog hair. We keeps rolls of cellotape for 5hat reason. My DH goes to his golf with dog hair on his clothes. Sometimes his meetings. Earlier his friends used to comment, now they leave him be.
I hope your DD is better from her hamstring injury. If i were non vegetarian i would eat lots of ham. Mmmm...bacon and ham used to be my favourite meats. But sparsely eaten because so expensive here. The Chinese make a pigs sausage which is so delicious, 5he fat just oooooozes out whenyou bite into the meat, but of course you needto diet for a week after one helping.
i think Gordon would know about the sausage. It a huge thing in Calcutta. Or was.
