Hi, Kids,

Took a nice hot soak and will be going to the store. I decided to wait a bit to see what the deli has. If it's too early, nothing is ready. SV's new toothbrushes and finger brushes arrived. I put one on my finger and he was a bit confused but got the hang of it. Can't wait til the toys arrive. Anything to keep from having to have them cleaned at the vet again.

There was a shooting at the Lennox Square Mall in Atlanta in the parking garage. It's an upscale mall that I went to several times when the kids lived in Atlanta. It was a mugging gone wrong. So sad that people seem not to care how they hurt others. Too many lost souls.

Spring, that's interesting about the oxygen's making COPD worse. Guess it makes sense. If the lungs don't have to work, perhaps they give up on working. I grew up at high latitude so my system was very efficient at using the oxygen in my system. I believe I've lost that after all these years down here. Good news is that the asthma seems to be gone. Good for your DS for going back to school for his degree. I hope he gets the job of his dreams. He's smart to go into a field in demand. After years of being under employed at a library in Denver, Claudia's DD got her dream job at one north of town. They are moving. She has a masters degree in pediatric library science, a very narrow field. Her DH watches their toddler during the day and works at Target in the evenings. They have an adorable two year old boy. It can be tough for kids today.

Rock, you must have needed the sleep but it may have kept you from being able to sleep this morning. Our sleep/wake cycles are often screwed up. You should see all the duplicates of things I have because I forgot I already have them. Good thing about getting books for the Kindle through Amazon is that it tells me I already downloaded that book if it's a duplicate. We have bears and gators in pools here. Yes, also bears jumping on trampolines, gators not so much. Maybe you can catch some Zzzzz's today.

Gotta go throw on a bit of makeup so I don't scare people at Publix. Catch y'all later.

Love, Mikie

Home again, home again...got a few things to get me through at the store. Gonna make some soup. They had nice big basil plants for $3.99; they are usually $5.99. I got one and some cilantro to make pesto sauce. Ran into my neighbor and Mom's good friend, at the store. She is so cute and so sweet. She always looks great and she tells me I look great. It's a joke now and we point at each other saying, "You look great." We have lost so many neighbors that I cherish the ones still here. It's 63 degrees out with a cold wind. Joe came out of his door and he was wearing shorts. He ran back inside. I grabbed a lightweight jacket before I left. Stopped to gas up the car on the way home. I hate to let it get that low. So glad I had a new gas card that saves me 20 percent on my gas. Didn't spend much on groceries so the budget is good. I'm practicing being frugal for when this annuity stops and the smaller one takes over.

Hi, Kids,

OMG! I'm blown away. On The View, there were children singing. They sing in their school choirs. One school is a Christian school with all black kids. The other is a Jewish school. One little boy asked his choir director if they could sing together. The whole idea is to bring people together. It was so beautiful to see them and hear them sing. Sooo inspirational. I cried. It made me realize how hungry I am for messages of love in this era of hatred. This when white supremacists are gearing up for battle with people in the ANTIFA movement which is likely to end up in violence as it did in Charlottesville last time they clashed and a young woman died.

From the mouths of babes...will come, I hope, a future of peace and love (sorry, it's the old hippie in me). As long as there are good people who would rather love than hate, there is hope.

Love, Mikie

Greetings all,

Just had to pop in for a minute to see if I was missing something. The cleaning ladies came early and so I need to go out there when they are ready to come in here. They got done quickly since the other daughter is off from her other job today.

JULIE - So glad you are back and feeling a lot better and that you got the big freezer working. You out there in the COLD puckerbrush as DH calls the less inhabited areas, really need that extra freezer. Hope your specialist can help with your ear problem. Can't blame Oreo and Peace Sign for wanting to stay indoors.

ROCK - Don't feel too bad about your memory as DH and I haven't been having our share of those moments.

Gotta run.

Love,
Granni

Hi, Granni,

My cleaning lady doesn't have to work today either. Oh wait--that's me! And I should be doing a bit more cleaning but just going to the store wiped me out. I did get a couple of things done, including setting up my budget spreadsheet. Also got confirmation that my credit card payment has been credited to my acct. It looked as though it didn't for a bit but all is well. Had a scrape on my watch face protector but it rubbed out, another good thing. It doesn't take much to make me happy.

Yes, those memory lapses happen to all of us and the older we get, the more often they seem to occur.

It's only 67 degrees out but the A/C just kicked on. Guess the afternoon sun has warmed the wall behind the thermostat. I'm just happy it works.

There were five ibis sitting on the limbs of the pine tree outside my lanai. One of our crazy squirrels went tearing up the trunk and surprised the birds. Lots of hopping going on and feathers flying. Squirrel thinks the tree belongs to him and doesn't want to share.

Hope you can come back for a spell.

Love, Mikie

Hi Kids, Gordon wants me to tell you that our tomato plants have sprouted. There are 8 of them,
and they are 4 inches high. It's been a busy day here. Gordon and I did the laundry. I can't
remember if he went shopping. The real work was done by two old men. Not sure how old:
50s? 60s? They are putting a new roof on the garage. Will be back on Wednesday to finish
the job. Too bad Fred Astaire isn't here. He could be dancing on it while the ibis act as the dancing
chorus in the background. The crazy squirrel can play the part of Everett Edward Horton.

This is an expensive production. $6,000.

Julie, are you still using the pellet stove? Has Dan been trouble shooting for his old employer or
is that bond finally broken?

My "save the forests brother "in Oregon sent us T shirts. Did I tell you that before? The T shirts
are teal and have a big tree on the chest. So I told Gordon I would send a thank you note. But of
course I forgot. In checking to see if there was a thank you note in his folder I discovered that all
letters to and from him for past several years have disappeared from this vicious machine. Years of past correspondence. Gone like an ibis in the wind.

Mikie, what is the plural of ibis? Is it Ib-i? I as in "I buy" my produce at Peterson's Produce
Palace. I caught the wink of an eye from a heard of Ib-i this AM.

Granni, you're right about failing memories. Generally doesn't matter much. Unless you misplace
your car or your house. Don't know where Kitty is. She disappeared as soon as the workmen
showed up. I spect she will be back soon.

Hug, Rock

Rock - i thought anhinga was a type of snake. its a type of bird. i like looking up to see something i dont know. Sweet of your Save the forests brother. We do need to save our forests. Look at the Amazon. I saw a BBC documentary on Siberia pollution. It is so cold there and the people all burn coal to keep warm. The children, babies are suffering from lung disease. Its heart breaking.

So Kitty gets nervous around strangers. Thats smart of her. I suppose the banging and hammering noise gets to her too. She is like me.

The pic i posted was of the sunset. two people have said, is that fire? That straight line of cloud was extraordinary. Like it was done by a ruler. Hmmm, so long since i used a ruler. i suppose if i sewed or sculpted or something i would ve been using one.

Cooking and cleaning dont require rulers, or compasses. Thank goodness. i was never one for geometry. Nor algebra nor arithmetic. English Literature got me by.
i remember The Scarlet Pimpernel. Exciting book.

Its tomato season here, too. Nice bright shiny firm tomatoes. But oh dear, everything is so expensive. i used to make a chutney out of fried tomatos with cilantro. But have not lately due to time constraints. i make a salsa out of raw tomatoes, onions, lemon etc. green chilli. I can wolf downtwo big plates of rice and curry if there is some of that to go with it. I dont but i can. Its so tasty.

Granni - what what does your cleaning lady do? Or ladies? im guessing deep clean swobbing and wiping down. Does it get dusty soon there? it does here.

Sun - thats good to know your DS has got a job he wants. i wish you were feeling better and could have enjoyed the museum. i looked it up. I would have loved it. All those gardens and Art Gallery. But i suppose youve been to many. i havent. I was lucky enough to visit the Museum at New York and just got blown away by what they had there.

Mikie - i find squirrels really entertaining. i know you said they can be destructive. i broke my phones cover in two places. Around the sametime. Since my phones dont last long i always get cheap ones. Ive not bothered to change.

My DH dropped his phone when out on an errand riding pillion on a staffs motorbike. A very nice gentleman saw it drop out on the road, got the number and asked DH to come pick it up.

My friend was not so lucky. Hers she forgot in a taxi, and the guy never returned it. Although it was from America and the fellow could not have used it. I mean whoever got it. It could be the next passenger who sat in his cab.

Barry - i would not mind a Lenny muffler to wrap around my neck. The cold wind gets in. It was showing cloudy weather in the CNN forecast map for us. Im glad i got some laundry done and it dried over two days. i had run out of pants. The DH got into a frenzy and took all of my warm coats and jackets to dryclean. That surprised me. A welcome surprise when he came home laden with freshly dry cleaned garments i thought were hanging in the closet.

*****

There was an avalanche in our mountains and seven people are missing. three Nepali guides, fourKoreans. They are climbers. i never got what possesses people to climb snowy, icy peaks. i would have used that money to go on holiday to a Roman bath, soak the healing water in, eat delicious food, get a oil massage everyday and just live a decadent life for a week.

Also two teenagers are missing. They were trekking around Annapurna base camp, Annapurna is a peak in the Himalayan range. A blizzard just came up. It scared me, that is the same route my DD and her three friends took in the fall. But in October. No snow.

Since there were fresh mushrooms in the house, i made two batches of mushrooms. for dinner last night. One, a curry the other night. The rest, fried in butter with pepper and garlic, onions. They both were wolfed down.

hello to Star, Dmc. et al.

Good Tuesday Morning, Kids,

Woke to 45 degrees outside with a heavy wind chill. Feels like 40 degrees. Will only get into the 60's today. I kinda like a nice brisk day myself. We have a brush fire inland but it's only burned 75 acres so it's not a big one. Been really dry here. SV just asked to go out but, when I opened the door, he wouldn't do it. That's the only way he knows what it's like out there. So far, there is no kitty Alexa to tell him the temps. Just found out that I can use my iPhone to talk to Alexa remotely. If I'm out, I can ask her to turn on the light. Doubt I would need to do that but it's cool that I could. The good news continues--just got an email that my voucher for $50 for Costco is in the mail. It's rewards from using their credit card at Costco and other places.

Rock, nice you could hire workers in their yutes. At least, down here, that is considered babies. I'll bet if Fred Astaire were dancing on the roof, he wouldn't miss a shingle step. If we were to reroof out bldg., about 4,400 sq. ft., it would cost between $25,000 and $28,000. We have a reserve account just for that purpose. Same for painting. We got a new roof in 2004 after Hurricane Charley. Roofer put a rubber dam under the shingles. The engineer who checked our roof said if every shingle blew off, the roof wouldn't leak. I think the dam is self-healing. Looked up the plural of ibis. The term used is called a 'collective plural.' I don't know how that is different from plain old plural. But I digress...two forms are acceptable--ibises and ibes. Very nice of your bro to send the tee shirts. I saw a drawing of a Koala Bear dressed like Smoky The Bear. He held a sign that read, "Only You Can Prevent Climate Change." I think misplacing a kitty has more to do with the kitty than memory. SV runs under my bed if a stranger comes in. He and Miss Kitty are smart.

Spring, just to make things more confusing--Anhingas are called, snake birds because of their long necks. They dive under water to catch fish. When they come up, they look like snakes swimming in the water. When they are done, they spread their wings out to dry. Not especially attractive birds but interesting to watch. Bird lovers here are all atwitter because there have been sightings of a flycatcher bird. There are two types and there is big conjecture about which one this is. I used a ruler just yesterday but to measure, not for a straight edge. I cleaned out a shelf in the kitchen and wanted to move my old blender to a shelf under a cabinet. Needed to know whether it would fit. I may replace it with an immersion stick blender. Or, not replace it at all. Still need to get rid of things. I put the basil plant on the top shelf near the window. That one thing triggered a whole cascade of cleaning and reorganizing shelves. I'm lucky that I am on DSIL's phone plan and he has insurance on our phones. I'm pretty careful with mine. The guy at Verizon put a glass protector on it instead of the more flimsy thin plastic ones. I put the thin ones on the watch and they are a pain but I'm always hitting it on things. I have an extended warranty on it in case of severe damage. The more stuff we have, the more pains in the neck we have. I like the idea of Lenny mufflers.

Barry, perhaps Lenny could spawn a whole new industry around pet mufflers. Everything is custom these days. People could send in photos of their favorite dog or cat and have it made into a muffler that could be put in the microwave to warm it. I have one of those neck pillows that goes into the microwave. Of course, they wouldn't be as good as the real thing draped around the neck but not all of us have a Lenny. I lay down on the sofa to rest yesterday and SV got up and we spooned. What would we do without our beloved little fur kids?

Speaking of which, SV is now begging for something. He begs to be picked up, be petted, be groomed and have his teeth brushed. Seems that everything I do for him soon becomes a necessity in his little kitty mind. His new toys, designed to help clean his teeth, are supposed to arrive today from Amazon. Guess I'll pick his nibbs up and give him some love. Hope all y'all have a wonderful and blessed day.

Love, Mikie

Morning, Good Morning, The Best To You Each Morning!

Another brilliant pun from your never empty bag, Mikie. Too bad Fred probably can't hear it.
Here's today's Alzhheimer story. Gordon brought home a book from the library that was free
or almost free. Written by Belva Plain. So I started reading it. But a day or two later I couldn't
find it. And then I found another Belva Plain book, so I started reading that one. Meanwhile I
looked for the first one.

Last night, after 3 days of keeping my eye out for the first book, I discovered there was only one
Belva Plain book. I was just mixed up again. There is no joy in Mudville or here.

Springwater, you should spend less time making mushroom dumplings and more time studying
nature: things like trees, animals, and mushrooms. BTW the Scarlet Pimpernel was made into a
movie 2 or 3 times. Leslie Howard (Ashley) often played the title role. The story was also a book and a play.

Hi, Kids,

Am totally exhausted today. I think the trip to Publix and the tiny bit of cleaning I did yesterday did me in. Sooo exhausted and my stomach is quite upset. Whine, whine, whine again! I know it hasn't been three weeks yet since I picked up this virus and it can take three to four weeks to get back to 'normal' so I'll try to be patient. My normal isn't always that great but it's better than this.

I read an interesting article about vitamin B-12. Seems it affects older folks, especially those of us on antacids. The antacids keep the body from absorbing this vitamin. That can lead to cognitive issues and memory problems. Vitamin B-12 is found in animal tissue but many older folks cannot chew it so don't eat it. I know it helps me sleep and sleep helps with neurological problems.

Rock, I know you have problems chewing and I was wondering whether B-12 supps might help. I have to order more of my liquid B-12 methylcobalamin supp. I can't take the little tablets you dissolve under the tongue because they contain stearates. Gonna up the amt. I am taking to see whether that helps. I wouldn't just accept that there is nothing that will help. I know how frustrating the memory and cognitive issues can be. Even a little bit of improvement makes a big diff.

Gotta go put on my soft fuzzy socks. It's 71 degrees inside the condo but my feet are freezing. I might get into the tub to soak and try to warm up my poor old bod. Love, hugs and prayers to everydobby.

Love, Mikie

Dear Ones,
Not to sure I should be on here very long because I have so much to do. Singing practice this afternoon and then finish up getting ready to go on an overnight with DH to La. (Louisiana , not Los Angeles). Hope to win a little bit of money - ha ha.. Although the last few times we did fairly well ( nothing great but better than losing. Both of really need to get out of the house for a bit and if we win some $ that will be the topping on the cake. Already have a load in the washer. Need to throw a few things and a bunch of pills in the suitcase. The pills are a pain in the neck to pack.

SPRING WATER , et al- We never had cleaning people, My mother was a very hard worker and they had a little money. I never thought I would ever have one but feeling like crap has not be helpful and no NRG to boot. A few years ago a friend in Chorale told me about the lady she used who is Hispanic and very reasonable. It looks now like her girls help the mom out with the business too. If two come it speeds up the process if if 3 come ( which is rare now) it goes really fast and they do very well considering . Even though one of the young ladies now has her degree (thanks to the govt). The mom speaks some English but the girls do most of the scheduling and talking. She is very reasonable and I know if I went elsewhere I couldn't afford it, They usually do the downstairs, vacuuming, dusting wash floors clean up kitchen area which is usually not that bad. That vacuum kills me so I am glad to have them come. I have a small area upstairs, a bath, bedroom and storage closet where they rarely go clean. I started them maybe 5 or more years ago, just guessing.

JULIE - Hope you are continuing to feel better day by day. I forget when you were going to the specialist, maybe this week?? Hope so !

Sorry but work is calling me. HUGZ to AWL inc - MIKIE, SUN, ROCK, BARRY, JULIE and all our MIA's.

LOVE,
Granni :D

Good Hump Day Morning, Dear Porchies,

It's 37 degrees out and I have the heat on in here. There are usually a couple of days in Jan. each year when we need our heat. I fell asleep last night before FJ. Still sooo tired but got eight hours of sleep. SV is lying next to me on a soft little throw. He's cold too.

Granni, I think it's great you have help with cleaning. Yes, running a vacuum is the worst for us. I get by with Roomba's help and I am more relaxed about keeping up with dusting and other chores. It's just me and SV and we don't make too much of a mess. I'm glad you and DH will be able to get away and do a bit of gambling. Hope you win big.

I am not watching news except for recaps. Too stressful but it's on everywhere all day and night. Good grief!

Hope all y'all have a great day. I'll be back later.

Love, Mikie

Took a nice nap on the sofa. When I woke, the sun was streaming through the sliding doors and everything looked green. It was amazing. I got up and fixed bacon and eggs for my second breakfast. Sooo good. Now I have a nice greasy stove top. Oh well, it was worth it. We're having a heat wave; it's up to 42 degrees out with cold brisk breezes that make it feel much colder. I talked SV into going out on the lanai but he complained and only stayed out a couple of minutes. The cold tile is making his foot hurt where two of his toes are fused together. He needs fuzzy wooly socks like mine.

Dearest Porchies,

Just a short post to say we did not go on our trip due to very bad weather esp in the area where we are traveling. It is raining now here but not bad at least not yet, Need to run to the store to get some more Goats Milk yogurt. I am completely out and the health food store said that they got a very short load so I need to go before that is gone.

Sorry I cannot stay to post much but I had better get a move on.

Glad you had a good nap MIKIE !! It is in the either 40's or low 50's. Not supposed t get much warmer today. I hate this stuff. PS I watch the news as little as possible, Glad you enjoyed your bacon and eggs. Sometimes it tastes much better than others for some reason. As a kid I didn't particularly like them anyway. i think I have a slight sensitivity to them and they have to be very fresh.

Love,
Granni

I’m sitting in my kitchen, basically trapped because the insulation guys are busy getting ready for work in the attic. I locked Clair in my studio.....I gave her a new can of wet food so she went in there willingly. Wait until all the noise starts! She will be searching for a tiny place to hide. This room is where I keep the litter boxes and her dry food and I moved her little bed in there too.

One guy said a rat had been caught....I hope so. I’m spending a small fortune to have the attic totally cleaned out of the old boxes, AC tubing, etc. left by two other companies who did work over 15 years ago *&^%$#@. and it would be good if there’s no live rats running around either. In another 30 min. The carpenter is coming again. He spent the whole day here yesterday working on the patio roof and getting ready for the roofer who comes on Saturday. I’m having him install more outdoor lighting under the patio roof. I just took a peek.....the guys are all covered in white haz mat suits and breathing masks. Strange feeling.

Mikie: I saw that a cold wave was hitting so. Florida. As for us it’s been down in the high 30s some mornings. I walk around the house with a jacket on most of the time. This is basically a glass house so I’m hoping new 12” thick insulation will help.

Rock: Have you ever seen a doctor about your memory problems. Don’t just assume it’s Alzheimer’s. Years ago I had trouble getting over the flu....trying to think! I messed up an etsy order sending it out because I just couldn’t think. Had to resend the correct item. It’s an awful feeling so I understand.

something for you and Gordon to https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/09/190927122526.htm

I put in a FURIOUSLY ANGRY call to both the roofing company who didn’t totally clean up the roof debris and also the AC company. They left huge metal tubing up in the attic. I told them I EXPECT them out to take a look at the mess that came down from the attic. Don’t anybody mess with me today!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All.

Mikie. I took rx antacids for so long that I developed a methylmalonic "block" and could not absorb B12. When I stopped the prevacid and dexilant I was told that I could stop giving myself shots of cyanocobalamin B12 and had to switch to methylcobalamin sublingual B12. I understand your not taking stearates.

Hey Mikie, enjoy your cold snap. Maybe with a warm nap-cat.... When I finish my lunch I go lay under the eiderdown on the bed and read and then short nap. Sylvie joins me and cuddles, purring loudly, next to my chest, and then naps with me. Monty is very merry, playing constantly with shoe-laces, dog toys, etc. It is fun watching S and M stalking and chasing each other around in the house -- and outside too. We've been letting them spend the nights indoors and they do just fine. NO MESSES! No litter box. We put 'em out in the evening and let them in just before bedtime. Let 'em out early a.m. Then they do what they doo, and spend much of the day in the house again. They need to be put on a diet; getting fat. We feed them only dry food. If they want meat, let them catch it....actually found a half-eaten mouse t'other day. Yesterday they got a shrew-mole, but they never eat moles.

Sun, sounds busy, busy, busy at your house. Probably noisy too:( Sorry about the rat and termites; hope that gets resolved asap.

Spring, how nice that DH went into a laundering frenzy! I need Richard to do the same, LOL! Uh, tomato season in Nepal in the winter? Surely imports, eh wot?
I am with you, my dear, on the same page in regards to people who like to climb mts., in the snow, in the winter. Heck, I wouldn't even do it in the summer! Not enough

vegetation to interest me....

Granni, you are having really bad weather, eh? Sorry you had to cancel your trip to LA!

Mikie, beware of the falling iguanas!

Missing Julie, Star, and, and, I gotta go.
Love and Peace to one and all,
Barry

Hi, Kids,

DD just called. She has another interview with a group practice where she would basically have her own practice but they would handle all the rest and all she would have to do is see patients and write scrips. She could set her own hours too. Sounds ideal. My DSIL was able to run on the beach a bit in Galveston. Docs don't know how he is even standing and walking with two torn thigh muscles and one that has completely detached. DD saw a big white feather in front of her on the beach and looked up to see DSIL take his first running steps. Must have been my Mom watching over him. She sent a pic of the feather. It's up to a sizzling 59 degrees out and sunny. They installed the new pool gate today. Should go down to make sure my gate fob works. I'll likely not get dressed today so it will have to wait. I am still binge watching Homeland. It's a good series. Not totally believable but none of those shows are. lots of action.

Granni, so sorry you had to cancel the trip. That's a shame. I usually get Publix eggs which are cheap. They had Eggland's eggs on sale for about the same price. I got them and they do taste better. I tried to buy free range eggs but kept getting ones with blood in the yolks and that makes me sick. AACCKK!! Hope you get your goat cheese.

Barry, that's awful about what happened to you with the antacid and B-12. Glad you can take the sublingual tablets. Wish I could but have to take it in liquid form. I have found that if I eat smaller amounts, it doesn't stir up the acid in the part of my stomach which is above the diaphram. I have cut back on the antacid. The stomach needs some acid to process food and absorb nutrients. I am enjoying the cooler weather now but it was a bit too cold this morning. I'm glad Sylvie gets next to you and purrs. There is something sooo soothing about a cat's purr. I had to stow my down comforter because it's just too hot here for one. I have one of those thin cotton quilts now. Bonus is that SV's claws don't damage it. Didn't know you were into S and M. :) All kidding aside, it must be great fun watching them. I'm laughing at the critters' getting fat. I can hear them, "They keep saying mole sauce is so good on the Mexican cooking channel but this mole tastes like crap!" They are trying to get rid of the iguanas that have become a nuisance down here. People are encouraged to kill them humanely. I figured this was a big opportunity to just go around and gather them as they fell out of the trees. If one fell on me, I'd likely freak out. I like reptiles but the surprise factor might stop my heart. Thanks for sharing your life with your critters. I enjoy hearing about them, and you.

Sun, that's awful that the workers left all that debris in the attic. I don't blame you for being so upset. Good for you for telling the companies about it. Hope that helps get rid of the stress. I'm still waiting to hear about the bldg. next door where the A/C guys put in a new unit and poured a concrete slab that is encroaching on the easement between their bldg. and ours. Stupid mgr. said he would call the owners. I should have told him I hope he is fluent in French. They are French Canadian and speak and understand English well but not well enough to understand about easements. I hope all the noise and mess isn't too much for you and Clair. If the neighbors see those guys in hazmat suits, they will wonder what is going on. I hope the insulation helps too. There is quite a bit in my attic here. The condo stays pretty warm when it gets cold and stays pretty cool even when it's sizzling outside but the idiot developer only put in single-pane windows. If I could afford it, I'd replace them all with the new hurricane glass. When all this mess is over with, you should have peace of mind that the vermin isn't coming in and everything will be ship shape. Try to stay stress free in the meantime.

Gotta get going. Hope all y'all are having a wonderful day.

Love, Mikie

Barry: My son from Oregon just sent this to me and I thought you might be interested in reading it. NO.....I won’t be using any magic mushrooms! And yes.....it’s incredibly noisy. They’ve been vacuuming overhead for at least 3 hrs and no end in sight. Then when they’re done cleaning it all out, they have to reverse it and put the new insulation in. The carpenter is out back but when he leaves I’m going to escape to the back yard. I talked with him a little more today. Seems he used to be a waiter years ago, working at Kevin Costner’s old restaurant, Twin Palms, in Pasadena. He mentioned yesterday about buying one of those coffee machines, Nespressa, and how it steams the milk too. Should have known he got a taste for good coffee someplace.

After over 9 hours of vacuuming, they finally finished. But on Friday they’re coming back to put the new insulation in. What a nightmare day it’s been. I had to go out in the back and clip bushes and do some cleanup to get away from the noise.
